And just like that, the Mizukage found himself back in the cove . . .

A mere couple of days ago the plans were discussed and actions were taken toward the succession of Ōsharu keeping his promise to his village, this lone promise weighed on the man's shoulder like the earth, but through his god given perseverance he trudged on despite the many doubts and threats. As he sat back in his chair reflecting on the previous events in full detail Ōsharu couldn't help but think about even dire current events. . .

"In the meantime, I must start work on a Summit... Lies will be thrown left and right, but the truth shall come forth... One way or another..."

Zevas was drug to a random lake in a random place in the middle of nowhere by none else than the mizukage. According to the leader he had a special job for him in which required someone of his mental caliber. Zevas went along willingly, though he also had no other choice. The mizukage motioned towards the water, diving into the lake. Zevas had always assumed the lakes inside the lands of kiri were shallow, maybe big enough to swim in. Zevas Followed suit to find to his shock and awe that the kage had disappeared. Zevas looked around to see the kage waiving from a small crevice in the rock. Zevas swam over, cautious not to hurt himself.

All of a sudden Zevas was grabbed by a current and pulled into the crevice. He started twirling in the water, spinning uncontrollably, starting to get dizzy. Zevas closed his eyes, straightened himself out and let himself follow the current till his dizziness faded. Opening his eyes he saw the mizukage in front of him, swimming like a fish, a fucking fish for pete's sake! Zevas continued to follow till the current shoved him out of another crevice, into a small pool in an underground area. Was this what the kage wanted to show him?

Zevas swam to the surface, climbing out of the water and onto the land. The cave had candles lighting the poorly lit areas, illuminating the rocky interior. That was when Zevas noticed the kage looking at him with a stern face. Zevas stood at attention, waiting for what the kage had to say. Slowly the man opened his mouth and began to speak, explaining the details of the mission. Zevas watched intently, filing away the information to the deep recesses of his mind. The stern tone from the kage was unlike his normal self, but it didnt scare or worry, Zevas.

Once the kage was finished speaking, he told Zevas he was dismissed. Standing there for a moment, Zevas pondered something. He looked at his hands, thinking to himself. The Kage trusts me with such a valuable mission from someone he suspects...but ive hidden one of my most valuable gifts from the world and im not sure even he knows about it. I must prove myself by bearing what i treasure most... Zevas sighed and looked at the Kage's back as he had now turned around. Zevas inhaled, bracing himself for what he was about to do.

"Mizukage-sama, there's something i must show you. I assume you have faith in me, and i must show my trust in you as well as my allegiance. There's something ive hidden from everyone for a long time, out of fear of who or what might come after me. You'll be the first to know my true gifts as a shinobi."

Zevas closed his eyes, removing his sunglasses. Slowly he opened his eyes, the red glow coming from them shining on the ground till they fully opened and slightly illuminated the area before him. He looked at the mizukage, hoping he would not think of him as a spy himself, and would put trust in him even more.

"The true power of the Rēzā clan isnt our charm and good looks, Mizukage-sama. Its our ability to use a special release. One that no one has really seen."

Zevas awaited a response from his leader.

Being a shinobi was and will forever be a full time gig, alertness of the mind and senses was a must, but at times the very senses that one honed for their protection actually can backfire on them. As was the case of the moment, the sigh released by the young boy had been executed and recited over many times by those before him, more than likely he had too much on his mind and being the newfound sensei that he was forced Ōsharu to play the "listening ear" role under being a mentor. Acting as though he didn't grasp the situation already, he awaited until he was actually addressed to wheel back around in a 180 degree fashion to face and listen to the newest member of his squad.

"True gifts, huh? Hmph... The limits of these so called gifts will be tested soon enough..."

"Wow... That definitely didn't go how I expected... Nevertheless, proceed Zevas.."

The glow emitting from the young boy's eyes directly caused an eyebrow to be raised from the Mizukage out of curiosity, the thought of why the boy had chosen to wear sunglasses within the confines of a dimly lit cave had crossed the man's mind prior to the big unveiling, but choosing to speak on it could have been seen as rude, thus he didn't. The look of pity worn by Zevas was met with one of confusion worn by Ōsharu. Extending his right hand and turning it over twice revealing both sides of the hand, upon turning his palms facing up for a third time a rose standing upward composed of chakra enriched salt formed. Yet, with a simple stream of air the construct blew away. The sound of Ōsharu's boots on the rocky floor echoed off of the inclosed cave walls as he distanced himself from the genin, though still facing the boy he stopped with both feet together and his right hand extended outward while the other rested behind his back.

"You are not the only gifted one Zevas... Like any extraordinary gift, the limits of which must be tested... Thus, I ask that you do your best without holding back..."

Zevas watched as his kage had responded, turning to him with a somewhat look of shock in his eyes from the glow that emanated form Zevas'. Zevas held his composure, listening to the kage speak. After the first sentence he watched the Kage flip his hands, and produce a white rose. Zevas was slightly confused at first, watching closely. The rose seemed to glisten by the flame's low light in the cavern, then it dissipated with a small breeze, most likely coming the the breath of the kage. Zevas wasnt sure what to think, but he was sure that those small particles of the rose were probably still in the air It had to be some sort of small granular or powdered object, but it came from the kage's body.

Zevas spun the the chemical composition of the human body, and also ran through the clan's in the village. It wasnt a kaguya technique, no, those involved bone manipulation and gowth, then what was it? It had to be manipulated with chakra, as he saw nor felt any of the elements around him move. Maybe it was a type of earth release. Zevas smiled, it had to be! Or at least some earthen component. That would only benefit him.

This thought process happened in mere moments, as then the kage had started backing away, and got into a 'bring it on' stance. The stance was then verbalized by the kage, telling Zevas his skills must be tested, and not to hold back. In a real fight the kage would win, no doubt about it. Zevas was still a genin, and their skill levels differed greatly. Zevas nodded then gathered chakra, extending his arm out towards the kage. This would look like he was telling his leader to stop, or as if not to move. Zevas then turned his feet slightly, lowering his stance, and darted across the room. He would try and circle the kage, although he knew it was useless to do so, but he had to try his best. He fully extended his arm, and a bright light fired from his hand, flying towards the kage. It s speed was was significantly faster than most techniques of its rank, and if the kage ddged or bocked he would see what kind of damage it would do.

In the day of ninja verbal communication had increasingly become limited for the very nature of being a ninja took part in the arts of stealth, thus when the boy gave a nod to the verbal challenged issued by his sensei that was all it took for the battle mindset to sink in for the both of them. From the moment Ōsharu issued the challenge toward his student his body remained as unwavering as ever, but in the midst his eyes and brain worked simultaneously to asses the situation and simulate different battle scenarios. The only disadvantage/step back that he faced was that of the challenge itself, a display of an unknown kekkei genkai, the possibilities to the abilities that the child wielded were endless. If he was not cautious this simple spar could turn deadly fast.

"Time to asses... Prove your worth, Zevas... Expect nothing flashy on this end though, no need for anyone to get hurt..."

The gears of the spar went in motion as Zevas made a specific gesture before running in a circle around the Mizukage, and despite the speed displayed by the boy being adequate for someone his age, the blue haired man kept track of him. With his eyes fixed on the boy as he went round and round Ōsharu viewed and took note of every step and misstep, a simple spinning on his heels before sidestepping was all that it took to evade the boy's technique once it was finally cast. Swiveling his head around to view the aftermath of the technique, a certain excitement grew within the young Mizukage as his mind tried to discern what it was that the beam of light was composed of and how it left burn marks on the cave wall.

"Hmm... Interesting young one, we'll definitely delve more into your Kekkei Genkai in the future... But for now, don't rely on the offensive attack..."

The words streaming from his lips moved in tandem with his hands as he came to a stop in the half-ram hand seal, instantly a puff of smoke emerged and out of it went three miniature versions of the Mizukage, their giant star shaped pupils matched their enlarged head forcing them to lean back slightly as the chased after the boy. The three weaved in and out of one another so as to throw off another possible shot by Zevas and his form of lazerbeams, after closing in on him one of three attempted a slide between the boy's legs while the other each threw a punch to both of sides. All the while Ōsharu simply stood his ground with his arms folded across his chest, his eyes scanned the certain situation and he began to asses his newest student.

"How will you deal with the trio?..."

Zevas kept wary, watching the kage. He watched as the kage did a quick turn, easily dodging the attack. Zevas knew this would happen, but he also knew this was more of an assessment on the Kage's part. Zevas came to a halt as the kage turned back to him, keeping a distance of fifteen meters between them. The walls echoed with his footsteps in the small confine, and one could still hear the slight sizzle of the scorch mark on the wall. The kage seemed to enjoy the display, as he started weaving seals. Zevas watched intently till a cloud of smoke appeared, and out from it ran three small kage like figures. Their heads were enlarged, and their eyes were huge. It reminded Zevas of chibi characters in manga that he read all the time. They were almost child like, yet they also seemed to have a malicious intent. Zevas rambled through his head, not even taking a mere second to go through a few ideas.

These things are fast, and small. It allows them to fit in places a normal person wouldnt, but their heads make an easy target. I cant waste chakra, just shooting at them wouldnt be enough. There has to be a better way i can...THATS IT!

Zevas watched the little chibi things run in serpentine like patterns, their bodies making squeaky noises as they moved. It was...cartoonish. A three way forward assault would most likely involve flanking on both sides and an attack from the front, most likely used as a distraction. The kage was just standing there, and the smug look Zevas saw lit a fire in his belly. The chibi creatures closed in, all looking at him, everyone was looking at him, and in such a small place it gave Zevas the perfect advantage. He quickly formed a single seal. A bright light would shine from Zevas instead of a could of smoke, blinding anyone seeing the light. In such a small and dark and damp enclosure the light would seem to amplify and reflect off the moisture from the dew on the cavern walls.

Zevas would appear above the chibi figures, pulling out two kunai as he fell. The three chibi would be close enough together that he would fall on the middle one, taking it out with a downward kick, and the other two would taste the metal of his kunai from the top of their heads as it went through their cleft pallet. The squeaking noises that came from the chibi figures as they were attack and landed on by Zevas was comical and almost made Zevas laugh, almost. After this attack he would hold the kunai, facing the kage, and place himself in a mix of defensive and offensive position. He had also readied himself before hand if he missed one of the chibi, or multiples, he would throw the kunai at them, aiming at their enlarged heads to take them out. His goal was to make it one on one again.

The most simplest of techniques proved to be of the greatest uses given the enclosed space of the surrounding area. Upon the bright light flashing, the Mizukage's hands flung to his face to shield his eyes which had been forced closed, the chibi bunshin flailed their arms rapidly as they knocked each other to the ground repeatedly. The squeaks that his clones made as they moved about proved more useful to him that he had ever thought, thus his mind began working on a counter-offensive. Despite trying to convince himself that he would stay away from being flashy, the excitement of the battle began to sink in.

"Hmm... The trio has been affected also... This is definitely not a genjutsu... And these effects are real, thus the playing field is still level... If a blind man's game is what you wish Zevas then so be it..."

After placing his right hand in the half-tiger seal, a darkened mist began to seep from the pores on the Mizukage's body and also rolling in from the only entrance and exit. The mist began to accumulate rapidly within the enclosed area of the cove, it's properties proving useful for both parties as sight was restricted. With one of his five senses of no use to him, Ōsharu made sure to provide an ample amount to his other senses. With good timing, his ears picked up on the last of three squeaks made by the trio, to no surprise they had lost their lives in the confusion brought about by Zevas. While keeping his right hand in the half-tiger position, the blue haired man extended his chakra outward making use of his skills in the sensory category.

"Well played with blinding my little troupe... But, it seems the tables have turned... What comes next, Zevas?"

After locking on to the boy's chakra signature Ōsharu began his first true offensive against his student, the passive aggressive side of Kirigakure's beloved leader was slowly escaping him as he began to run in much the same fashion that his student had done to him. Around and around he went in a clockwise motion, but all the while he made sure to keep at a 15 foot radius with Zevas at the center. To increase the degree of difficulty Ōsharu's hands crossed to create a familiar clone ( + ) seal, during the midst of him running salt began to congregate on his right side before a fully function replica composed of chakra enriched salt emerged. With the castor running clockwise and his clone running counter-clockwise around the genin deciphering who and what was where was nigh impossible with the restricted visibility brought on by the black colored mist.

"Time to get the ball rolling... Plans of a summit are in the works, no more time can be put into this... This assessment is complete..."

Hidden thoughts were communicated between Ōsharu and his clone, thus his final plan went into motion. A set of hand seals were performed by the clone following his hand being coated in a deep blue chakra, the highest point being his middle finger, despite its ominous glow it still wouldn't be able to be seen through the mist. The clone moved in for a complete frontal assault, within the appropriate range a slash from the highest point of Zevas's left shoulder to midway on his chest, although not a fatal blow it would cause for some immobility. Continuing to run a path around his student with his eyes closed, Ōsharu still assessed the situation through means of his sensory skill, capturing the actions being made in his mind's eye. This would also prove useful if things happened to go wrong.

Zevas fell upon the chibi figures, as their squeaks of death were their last words, or sounds. The stance Zevas held had him facing the kage, seeing that his eyes were closed, but one of such caliber wouldnt be stopped by removing one of their senses. Almost immediately Zevas saw the black mist coming from the kage, watching it gather up behind him as well. The small cave was quickly filled with the mist, also blinding Zevas. He looked around, the glow from his eyes barely piercing the dark haze before him. Zevas pondered for a second, seeing a similarity in the jutsu as one well known by kiri nin, hiding in the mist. Yet, this mist was black, and Zevas hoped that it wouldnt affect any of his other senses besides sight. He listened carefully, keeping an eye out as well. In such a small space he could hear the repeated footsteps of his kage running around him. He tried to visualize what the kage was doing.

Trying to pull the same maneuvers as me i see...lovely...

Zevas continued to listen, when all of a sudden he heard a second pair of feet hitting the ground, this time running in the opposite direction. There was no squeaking this time. It had to be some sort of clone...or possibly a genjutsu he let himself get caught in. Zevas had no time to gawk at his actions, almost no time to come up with a plan. He had to react quickly. He ran threw multiple scenarios in his head within a seconds span, only coming up with the best possible solution. He was going to have to expel some chakra in order to make sure he wasnt hurt.

That was when he heard the change. It was sudden and significant. The one of the figures had stopped running in a circle, and changed its direction for a frontal assault upon Zevas. Within that single moment, from running in a circle to turning towards him, Zevas made a split decision, being now or never. The kunai in Zevas' hands began to glow, and immediately after he dropped them, forming three hand seals in rapid succession as the kunai dropped. Nearing the floor Zevas lifted one foot, quickly kicking the kunai outwards from him in a V shape. As the kunai left his feet a glowing blade would appear in his hand, it seeming to cause the mist around it to turn into vapor from its intense heat and bright light. It was like a torch coming out of his hand.

The kunai werent meant as an attack, but more as an aid. They would glow brightly, cutting through the mist, like two beacons sent off in the night. They would reveal, only for a moment, the kage rushing at Zevas, if it was really him. He noticed a glowing hand, held for what looked like a karate chop. Zevas raised up his sword in an angle, opposite that the striking position the figure before him held. In mere moments The two colors would clash, one blue from the kage, and one red from Zevas. Zevas aimed to block the blow coming at him, doing his best to reduce any possible damage. This had to be it, the final test. He didnt know what he would do if he failed.

"Three seconds, Zevas..."

The voice, broad enough to seemingly fill every crevice of the cave and echoing repeatedly like some type of nightmarish dream, belonged to no other than the Mizukage. What was that in his voice? His tone different from when he previously spoke, now a hint of a mixture between being annoyed and disappointed in a manner of speaking. In many ways the current situation gave good reason to be disappointed, his student had not lived up to the level of expectation gained from his previous performance no more than a few battle moves before. Within Ōsharu's minds eye, which depicted the extent of his sensory skill, the blue humanoid figure which he knew to be Zevas stalled after noticing the clone charging toward him, thus changing his attack target. By relinquishing his true speed Ōsharu seemingly disappeared mid stride as the kunai from Zevas began to become engulfed in an intensely lit chakra, by the time they were released from his hand a blurred trail of pale white and blue caught up to the appearance of the Mizukage as he reappeared behind his student.

"Had he not learned anything?... A critical thinker no doubt he was, but had he not acquired any analytical skills?... Knowing one's enemy is key to any battle..."

"Two seconds, Zevas..."

Despite his voice coming out at no more than a whisper into the left ear of his student, it flowed like velvet as it worked in tandem with his already moderately deep voice, all of which added to the increased ominous yet nightmarish feel of things amongst his sudden appearance. A breath's time span of silence was all that was afforded after the Mizukage had last spoke. Before Zevas could finish the completion of his third and final hand seal his shoulder would jolt forward, this causing the displacement of his hands. -- Clink -- The kunai chimed as they pierced into the earthen cave wall after failing to be caught, the boy's foot exerting enough force to secure their place in the rocky interior now that they had changed shape, the glow emitted by these tools casting a ominous glow in the distance akin a lighthouse on a foggy night.  The culprit? None other than Ōsharu, using the momentum of his expedited travel he transferred this through his stop and into his shoulder which in turn nudged into his student's.

Using the residual energy from the impact, he whipped his body to the left which allowed his left arm to swing over the shoulder of the same side of Zevas. The man's arm, extended to it's fullest length, ended with his pale elongated index finger pointing a foot away from the center of his own face, the overall appearance resembling that of a gun with the thumb as the hammer. Like a sleeper agent, the clone had been given its' orders and was designed to go to the fullest lengths to complete them, this little known fact only caused a devilish grin  to crack across the blue haired man's face as he opened his eyes revealing the honey gold color of his eyes for the first time since being blinded, his sight returning to him and the scene panning out precisely as he had depicted all the while.

"Time is up Zevas..."

-- Boom -- Followed the creation of a dagger shaped bullet comprised of compact chakra enriched salt that released from the Mizukage's pores. As it soared the last foot through the air before entering into the skull of the Salt Clone the black liquid that comprised the mist that clogged the air began to accumulate in a never ending swirling pattern around the bullet. A stream of salt poured out of the seemingly bullet hole that had been left in the clone's head, its' body went limp as it fell against Zevas before sliding to the floor, the blue hue of chakra which made up the non-executed attack faded from the clone's hand before it exploded into a pile of fine grain salt.

A long sigh released from Ōsharu's chest as he lowered his head and began walking away, patting the boy on the chest in the process to indicate that things were finished. From the moment he took off racing toward his student it felt as though time had slowed, the pace at which he moved seemed to have almost slipped into the hundreths of seconds in between time, yet his movements flowed gracefully like the very element he had come to Master. His hands slid within the secluded areas of his inner jacket pulling out a silver flask, the rapidly spinning off before falling to the side bound by a strap. It's contents being turned upside down before entering the body of the Mizukage, the sleeve of his free hand being used as a makeshift napkin before aiding the other in returning the flask to its' prior location.

"High quality, H20... Any who... Many hours of training are upon us, Zevas... You're smart, no doubt about that, but... When need to get to instill some.. Er... 'Other' -types of smarts into you... Nevertheless, that is all for today..."

Zevas knew what had happened even before it happened. He knew it would happen from the very beginning of this test, as the Kage was much faster and stronger than he was. His shoulder was bumped, interrupting his hand seal formation. The whole process seemed to move in slow motion, causing zevas to stumble forward, the force enough to cause him to slightly lose his balance. He could see the blue chakra about to reach him, causing Zevas to instinctively throw up his hands. There was a sound in the distance that sounded like spoken words, and the next thing Zevas knew he was covered in a grainy substance. Zevas tasted some when it went in his mouth, dissolving. It was salt, the clone had burst into salt! That was what that rose was made out of earlier, so Zevas had been slightly right. The Kage patted his chest, indicating the fight was over. Zevas stood up and shook the salt off of him. He was afraid of some sort of hidden attack. Zevas looked at the Mizukage, and only nodded, returning his sunglasses, and leaving the area. He knew there was nothing left but to do what he must, and that was to protect kiri.
