Description: This technique is often used when trying to escape a pursuer and tools such as makibishi spikes are not available. After focusing chakra into their feet the user is able to produce sharp spikes made of ice in their footprints. These spikes are are able dig into the feet of whoever steps on them and do enough damage to lower their speed equal to one taijutsu rank.
Weakness: In addition to there being no guarantee that someone will step on the spikes they leave a very clear trail to you

Description: While holding the dog hand sign the user forms a barrier of ice around themselves, the process is almost instantaneous. The barrier reaches out 1.5 meters in each direction in the shape of a half sphere attached to the ground. Though this dome will use up the chakra sustaining it in a total of three posts it can be punctured by adept level taijutsu and shattered by master level taijutsu.

Clan History: History speaks of raiders who terrorized the land of snow long before shinobi lived as organized units. Living as alpha predators in an unprotected land for generations made the Tōketsu fat and lazy, leaving them unaware of the formation of Yukigakure after the influence of the land of fire inspired the defeated people. The surprise of what force a structured military can do came on what would otherwise have been any other raid to obtain the supplies needed for the approaching cold season. The wild Tōketsu stood no chance against the combined forces and were forced to flee their ancient homeland in search of those who would accept such violent and brutal people as allies.
The prayers of the clan were answered when the last of their ships washed up on the shore of the land of water. Greeted by shinobi of the hidden mist a challenge was granted to which the people of ice responded with full force. Impressed by the sheer might and noticing how desperate they were for even table crumbs the first Mizukage welcomed them into his ranks.
There would come a time when the hidden mist came to despise those who possessed bloodline traits such as the ice release and attempted to exterminate them. This time however the Tōketsu were prepared. The mightiest of their warriors stayed behind to defend from the waves of allies turned foe while other prepared a forbidden art the clan had developed for such and occasion when survival was all that remained. An explosion of ice forming almost instantly was heard in every corner of the village as the entirety of the Tōketsu were frozen solid and lost in time, perfectly preserved to awaken at a later date while safe inside the confines of their ultimate art.
It would take twenty years for the first of the lost clan to emerge. The world had changed greatly, a fourth ninja war had been fought and many relations between villages had changed. Even Kirigakure itself had lost it's traditions of brutality that it had come to be known for. The readjustment to the world was hard and many of the clan did not survive their frozen sleep, some still have yet to awaken and remain lost forever. But in the end they survived and that is what mattered.
Relations between the clan and the village as a whole were forever unstable, resulting in large numbers of Tōketsu shinobi eventually going rogue. Those that do remain are loyal to their ancient agreements between clan and village, honoring their ancestors words and staying as faithful shinobi of the mist. But even though these ninja have forgiven the crimes against their people, the purging of the bloodlines will never be forgotten.
Fun Facts:
- Though at least 300 shinobi entered into the great freeze only around 100 emerged in the end, those who died in the ice are referred to as the Lost Ones
- The lost ones are located in the old home of the clan which is located at the center of their current land holdings on the edge or Kirigakure
- It has become a tradition in the clan to freeze the bodies of the dead, or something to represent them when a body isn't available, and place them among the lost ones
