Gishiki, Kokoro P91b

Name: Kokoro Chishio Gishiki
Nickname: Chi
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Village: Iwagakure
Village Rank: Genin
Skill Rank: D

Gishiki, Kokoro V128

Height:
5’8”
Weight: 130lbs
Hair color: Black
Eye Color: Green
Looks Image: (Above)
Looks Description:

Still having not fully grown into his body, Kokoro body stretches lankily about, making him look almost pencil-like. That aside, he still manages to move with a pronounced, if awkward and spastic, sort of grace. Possessing a great posture and an adequate amount of confidence, his broad shoulders rarely leave their strong, willful pose, his chest puffs out slightly at all times, and chin almost always tilts ever so slightly upwards, projecting a certain air of self-assuredness boarding on cocky. In line with the rest of his body, the boy’s hands and fingers are long and slender, rapidly moving like hummingbirds, and identifiably expressive by anyone around him.

While slender and a bit narrow, his face has lost a bit of its boyish roundness, choosing instead a more angled, though small nose and a strongly defined jawline. His thin lips naturally dip in the center and curl up at the corners, giving him a perpetual neutral look of playfulness. His eyes dominate the majority of his face, great, green, glowing orbs resting peacefully beneath slender, well defined eyebrows of the same shade of pitch black as the spikey, unkempt mess of hair upon the young man’s head. Between his large eyes and the outside world, the boy frequently can be seen wearing a pair of square, thick rimmed glasses of varying colors and patterns. While certainly fashionable, these lenses are entirely void of any real purpose, a simple expression of utter vanity.

For clothing, Kokoro prefers a more “stylish” approach to ninja-wear than many of his peers. He most often displays any combination of button up shirts, henleys, sweaters, vests, jackets, and ties. His pants most often consist of simple slacks, though this of course can be altered to suit his mood. Outfit staples for the young boy consist of his glasses, which he refuses to take off for most any reason, and a pair of simple headphones, either covering his small ears or hanging loosely around his neck.

Gishiki, Kokoro Cy10

Personality Description:
Impulsive, perpetually hungry, highly observant, and more than a bit spastic, Kokoro generally comes of a klumsy and scatterbrained, flipping frequently and rapidly from one conversation or conversation point to the next and leaving little to no time for those around him to breath. Many, particularly village elders, find him exhaustively energetic and obnoxiously inquisitive to the point that they simply avoid him whenever seeing him in public. Couples with his rather nasty penchant for blatant laziness, his teachers frequently found themselves so annoyed with him that they simply let him do his own thing, generally consisting of his rapidly rotating between four to five separate tasks.

Kokoro is not, however, unintelligent in any way. While he disapproves of formalized learning in most settings, he loves learning on his own and can frequently be found reading books ranging from fiction to functional accounts of various techniques from across the land. Along with this, his aforementioned ability to multitask is neigh unheard of and his attention to detail astounds even those years his senior. Unfortunately, this unique and useful skillset is often masked by Kokoro’s hyper, excessively curios nature.

The genin does not always display these tendencies, however. In meeting new people, the young man often shows a more timid side reluctant to initiate and continue conversation, ultimately stemming from rather well hidden self-conscious tendencies. While certainly smart and analytical, the fledgling ninja has never thought of himself as smart enough or analytical enough. As a person with no clan, no bloodline, and no competitive edge in the ninja world, he desires to prove that such things are not required, but usually regresses into his ambivalence towards these convictions.

Still, Kokoro is a ninja through and through. He harbors no particular qualms with killing, can seemingly turn of his emotions like a switch should he need, and possesses a moral compass with a greyer tone than most. Paired with this, the boy cannot, for some reason, stop himself from mercilessly stealing everything he can get his hands on. From baubles to bank accounts and bites to eat, nothing can truly exist in safety around Kokoro. Interestingly, he apparently sees nothing at all wrong with compulsively taking anything he can get his narrow and nimble fingers on.

Likes:

  • Food of any kind, especially fruit
  • Anything shiny
  • Magic tricks
  • Books

Dislikes:

  • Bloodlines and secret clan techniques
  • Extremely smart opponents
  • Vegetables
  • Doujutsu

Catch Phrases: “Um…. I don’t know how that got there…”
Nindo: I don’t need a bloodlimit. They’d just hold me back.

History:
The physical product of the love between a working class woman plying her trade as a humble painter of human bodies and well-intentioned but utterly talentless shinobi, Kokoro entered the world short one parent, his father having perished at the hands of an unknown demon-eyed warrior from a far-off land a few short weeks prior to his birth. Regardless, his mother worked through her own world, torn asunder by grief, and built a new one in her one and only son, bringing up the boy to the best of her ability and, having little capital of her own to boast, leaning heavily upon her own mother in doing so.

And Kokoro grew up in a loving but truncated family, learning, with a rather frightening rapidity, his mother’s trade and having seemingly inherited a great deal of her own artistic talent. At the same time, he spent a great deal of his time driving his mother crazy with his endless barrage of questions and equally endless run-ins with local parents and authority figures. In times like these, Sakka would send him off to bother his grandmother in her stead. In these frequent trips to the home of his father’s mother, the boy’s life in an inexplicable and generally common way.

Jiyuu, his grandmother, had long since served as a ninja within the village, a strong and stern woman of high standing even in her old age, hailed not only as a terrifyingly fierce combatant but also the reigning authority in the obscure field of sealing arts. The old woman, recognizing the traits and quirks of her grandson, gave him the only gift she could in the form of direction. She taught him everything she knew, telling him of how to further the artistic skills taught to him by his mother by imbuing them with various enchantments. In short, Jiyuu weponized the boy’s curiosity and prodigious ability to grapple with abstract concepts.

Near his twelfth birthday, Kokoro lost one of the only remaining two family members he knew, Jiyuu succumbing to a sickness she had battled for many years. In her will, she left the young boy two things: her entire personal library and the mandate that he was to become a ninja of the village. His mother now grieved again, both at the loss of her mother-in-law and the perceived loss of her son, a boy treading a path she had never envisioned for him, following in the footsteps of the man she loved and lost.

The academy proved simple in theory and difficult in practice for Kokoro. His grandmother had imparted with him a great deal of knowledge, ensuring his success in his shinobi life, but his restless mind grew swiftly bored and, in tandem, his mouth began to move. He struggled through relearning concepts his grandmother had long since instructed him on and attempting to deal with his peers, most of whom liked him but as a periphery friend, someone nice to have around but in no way crucial. Regardless, he made it through despite his lack of a bloodline.
