Kanon is a wakizashi sword that is 39" inches in overall length with a black hilt. The sheath of the sword has dragon painted over a black background.Rank: A
Special Abilities: C-ranked - Kanon has the ability to coat it's user in wind chakra for 1 post. The wind chakra causes the user's speed to increase and it also deflects projectiles (+1 rank in bukijutsu). The user looks like a blur when this ability is activated.
Origin: The dual wakizashi Shinju and Kanon were initially given to Hayato's mother, Hanami Shavitis as her coming of age gift from the Earth branch of the Shavitis clan. The receiving of these swords is cause for celebration. The clan members throw a party for whoever is getting their spirit.
These swords were crafted by a secret clan technique, a technique which is forbidden to be seen by outsiders. The Shavitis clan's weapons are hailed as some of the hardest, durable, and sharpest weapons in the Land of Fire. The technique includes the binding of spirits to the weapon of the Shavitis member. The sword known as Shinju was attached to a spirit of the same name. Although Kanon was not attached to a spirit, as only one spirit was allowed per clansmen and weapon, Kanon had the ability to infuse wind chakra. This spirit does not grant special powers to the weapon, it's just a way for the user to connect to the past. The spirit can talk to its owner and offer words of wisdom.
After her death, Hayato's father, Yagami Shavitis decided to give his son his wife's dual swords when he reached the right age. He was initially going to give them to him just because, but he saw that his son's fighting style mimicked his mother's. And since Hanami died before Shinju was broken, Hayato was due to inherit them, as is the tradition of the clan.
