Kinoko - the Mushroom Clan 1prj

Kinoko - the Mushroom Clan Food-Mushroom-icon
Clan Name: Kinoko
Clan element/'s: Doton and Fuuton are very common within the clan, but there is no set element. Cannot be Katon.
Special characteristics/traits: Other than the Houshi Ketsueki, a Kinoko clan member can see almost perfectly in complete or partial darkness, but as a result, they are very sensitive to sunlight and therefore must wear protective clothing, especially goggles, during the day. They are often seen wearing special gas masks, as well, to avoid unwillingly spreading their spores.

Location: Konohagakure

Bloodline Name: Houshi Ketsueki ll 胞子血液 ll Spore Blood
Bloodline Ability: Most clan members are born with fungal spores circulating within their bloodstream. These spores aren't particularly harmful dormant in the blood, and a Kinoko clan member is completely immune to both their own and other's spores. The spores help them fight diseases and toxins, and therefore many members of the clan enter medical fields and there are even medicines available to the public developed from the Kinoko's miraculous abilities.

Unlike something such as the Aburame's bloodline, however, the clan member and the spores aren't in a symbiotic relationship, or a parasitic one, for that matter. Instead, the spores are actually a part of the member. They form from the user's chakra stream, which keeps the spores aplenty within their system, helping with digestion and fighting off toxins, as previously mentioned. Because the spores are so personal, though, no two Kinoko spores are exactly the same. They can vary in outside effect, appearance, even things such as taste and smell. It is very common for the spores to adapt to a user's chakra element, as well - and evolve when they learn to harness new elements.

The spores aren't simply medication, however. They can be harnessed for a variety of powers and jutsu, customized to the user's own spores. Because of this, it is up to the member him/herself to truly grow as a shinobi, as the general clan-wide techniques are scarce.

Although the spores are diverse, they are incredibly flammable and therefore Katon users are unseen within the clan. As well, the user's body may be protected by the spores, but as a result their own immune systems and certain internal organs (Liver, heart, lungs, stomach, etc.) are almost entirely dependent on the spores. If they were to be removed from the shinobi, and more could not be generated, they would need medical treatment to survive.

A member of this clan who would like to have access to the Bloodline Trait must start with any rank in the technique below.

Secret Clan Jutsu:

Name: Houshi Ketsueki ll 胞子血液 ll Spore Blood
Rank: D-S
Type: Kekkei Genkai (activated via Ninjutsu)
Used For: Offensive/Defensive.
Element: Becomes the element(s) of the user.
Range: N/A (Affects the user, and those who come into contact with the spores)
Duration: Lifespan of the user. The technique is a natural process.
Hand Seals/Charge up: N/A. A clan-specific hand seal can be held to consume chakra to quickly generate spores within the body.
Description: This kekkei-genkai represents the actual effect and use of the spores within the Kinoko clan member. All users of this technique must live with it their entire lives - the spores generated through the technique live within their bodies as part of their natural body systems.

The effect and strength of the spores is determined by the strength of this Jutsu, which ranks up with the user. (The next rank is only available to be trained when the user ranks up. For example, a D-Ranked Genin can only train the technique to C-Rank if they become a C-Ranked Genin, or a Chunin. Ranking up this technique requires all of the same prerequisites as learning a new ninjutsu, such as Ryo cost. This Jutsu must be re-submitted and re-written to apply the rank-up changes.)

Refer to the spoilers to determine the powers and strength of each rank. Each rank is also given abilities that are applied automatically, regardless of the powers taken. Abilities DO stack. (for example, you CAN sacrifice 2 slots for new powers in order to increase the ability to cure poisons by 2 ranks.)

The physical appearance of the mushrooms the spores generate when they grow for ninjutsu is purely aesthetic and entirely up to the user.

D-Rank Effects:

C-Rank Effects:

B-Rank Effects:

A-Rank Effects:

S-Rank Effects:

Weakness: Clan members must wear a protective gas mask in order to avoid contaminating others unintentionally. The spores are an incredibly vital aspect of the user's life, becoming necessary for many major vital organs and systems to function - they are literally required for them to live. Therefore, if the user is stopped from generating spores and the remaining spores are removed, they become more vulnerable to toxins and damage, and will require medical treatment. Having this Kekkei Genkai limits the user from being born with or using the Katon release. Members of the clan with the Kekkei Genkai are also particularly vulnerable to bright lights and the sun, meaning that they are often covered head-to-toe in protective clothing.

Name: Ma kin no Houga ll 真菌の萌芽 ll Fungal Sprouting
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Used For: Supplementary
Element: N/A
Range: Short-Mid Range (40 Feet)
Duration: Until destroyed, or it dies off naturally. Could stick around for days, or weeks, but no longer than a month. Depends entirely upon where it was spawned.
Hand Seals/Charge up: Special hidden seal, then direct contact with a surface.
Description: By channeling their spores through their hands or feet, the user exerts their spores into a surface to grow a large mushroom cap (approximately the size of an average stool) that then becomes part of the ecosystem, if it was created in soil. Otherwise, the cap will die off once it expires all of the chakra used to create it (a few minutes, tops).

While the cap is alive, it is constantly creating and releasing spores into the air. These are the very same spores that the user harnesses, allowing them to spread their spores from afar.

The appearance of the mushroom varies depending on the user's own spores, but the user's rank determines the size of the mushroom, how much chakra is required to maintain it on a surface other than earth, and just how many spores the cap generates. A typical Gennin wouldn't be able to generate more than the equivalent of dust, whereas an experienced Jounin could shroud an entire segment of land in spore clouds.

The amount of spore generating mushrooms that can be created at any one time depend on the user's rank. 1 at C or D rank, 2 at B rank, 3 at A rank, and 4 at S rank.
Weakness: The mushroom is weak to fire damage, but can take a notable beating before it's completely destroyed. Weapons are also more effective in destroying them.

Name: Houshi no Kumo ll 胞子の雲 ll Cloud of Spores
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Used For: Offensive/Defensive.
Element: N/A. Fuuton users will have an easier time learning the technique.
Range: Short-Long Range. Varies depending on the user.
Duration: Until the spores dissipate (about a half hour, on their own) or are forced to disperse.
Hand Seals/Charge up: Tiger -> Boar -> Specific clan seal. Chakra gathers in the user's mouth over the course of a few seconds.
Description: After the seals have been formed, and the chakra gathered, the user expels the chakra from their mouth as a large cloud of spores the grows around them. This cloud carries their spores through the air, allowing them to be transferred to others via inhalation or skin contact. Only partially shrouds the area it's used within. Often causes harmless, smaller mushrooms to sprout in the area it was used.
Weakness: Affects everyone within the area with the spores, not just enemies or intended targets. There's no way to recall the spores after being exhaled, they must dissipate on their own or be dissipated through other means (Such as a Fuuton technique.)

Clan History: The Kinoko clan's earliest members are still rather new to the Leaf Village, although they are long dead. It is said that the clan's progenitor, a mushroom farmer from humble beginnings, was often attacked and raided by bandits. When his funds ran low, and he could hire no aide, he turned to Ninjutsu to help him fend off against his attackers. He set out to study the ways of the Ninja, but with his inexperience came ignorant errors. While he did gain the power he desired, he also cursed his family line with the technique. After fending off the bandits once and for all, he and his family fled underground, avoiding the harsh sunlight. While within the abandoned mines of a lost village, the farmer found that his new powers allowed him to easily grow even more mushrooms, making them a very successful fungus merchant. When they'd saved up enough money, they eventually emigrated to Konohagakure, where they set up an official shop.

But their family began to grow rapidly. As child and son and daughter passed the curse down to their family members, they bought a larger plot of land on the outskirts of the Leaf village, digging deep underground to create a large series of inter-connected tunnels and caves within which to live. Sometimes they are looked down upon by their neighbors for this behavior, but this is where the Kinoko have lived and flourished for generations.

You mentioned that your spores are good for fighting disease and such so i need to ask you to clarify on whether or not your going to use that to be immune from poisons and such as well.

Also I need to ask you to make a pros and cons list in the special characteristics section so its easier for the new members to pick out important details and easy to mod as well.
