Close Call [Mission, FIN]

Akio found himself yet again in the Kirigakure mission board. As one would expect the genin would be picking up another mission for him to do and hopefully finish today. Grabbing the piece of paper the genin walked away from the board slowly. Unfolding the paper he carefully read the orders that were dotted down on the parchment. Raising an eyebrow as he read it the genin was actually kind of surprised about what he was assigned to do. Actually he was a little excited to do what the paper told him to do. If he wasn't so sure he was up the boy wouldn't have believed it. He was to head down to the Drowning Paths and clean the place up. Which was rather interesting seeing as a genin wouldn't usually be assigned with a task so dangerous. Sure it wasn't jounin material, but it wasn't usually a genin level mission.

Not wanting to be told that there was a mix up Akio hurried off to the Drowning Paths. Reaching the path the genin had understood the mistake he had just made. Being tired of the run he had just made to get here it would be the worst time for the water to lash out a him. However he was one of the lucky ones today. As he began to pick up the trash and bag it the water seemed rather calmer then it usually would be. Finishing up with the last of the trash the boy grabbed the bag and threw it over his should.

The mission seemed easier then the orders had made it out to be actually. Heading back into town the waters quickly scaled up to their notorious violence level. Yelping as the cold water hit Akio dropped the bag as the water grabbed him. Sucking him toward the violent waters that had been the cause of so many deaths in the last year alone. Plopping into the water with a soft slash the genin was absorbed by the loud crashing of the waves. Struggling for his life the boy kicked his feet and flailed his arms. Surely it wouldn't end like this...it couldn't. Akio was just a genin and he had some much ahead of him, plus he hadn't even got to finish the search for his family.

Feeling his limbs grow numb and weak the genin frantically tried to keep himself from going back under. A few waves pulled him under for a moment before he bobbed back up. Closing his eyes the boy swallowed hard as he tried a last resort effort to save himself. Jumping out of the water head first like a dolphin the male focused his chakra into the soles of his feet. Catching himself on the surface of the water the genin smiled before hurrying over to the shore. Collapsing on the path the boy panted heavily as he watched the waters seemingly calm back down. Forcing himself to his feet the genin recollected what was left of the trash and quickly got back to the village. Surely he would try his best to keep away from such a place. While it didn't seem dangerous at first glance he knew why the path got it's name. Throwing the bagged trash away the genin slowly walked back to the mission board, now soaking wet and exhausted.
