Aerie Locke

Aerie Locke

mission details:
Aerie dusted off her pink kimono as she walked out of the village and toward the training grounds of Kirigakure. She had recently been their for her element training, but she had to meet someone very important before the day ended. As she walked toward her meeting destination, only after being away from the training grounds for a few days, she began to reflect on those past few days. The walk animating her memory. Her brain began to flood with details of a protection mission. However, she shut her memory out for a moment as she finally made it to her destination.

When Aerie arrived, she noticed the trees she had sliced during her previous training were still lying there. But this time, the wood was slightly dead and the leaves had fallen off: signs of dead nature. " Oops. " She would say, gritting her teeth and covering her mouth. She walked to the center of the mist covered field. The memories of her hard work on the training field caused her to smile, her cheeks flooding with happiness. However, her distraction didn't last for long, she soon began to remember why she had come to the field again. It was to meet her new sensei and leader of Kirigakure.

Deep within the mist the blue haired Mizukage laid flat in a spread eagle fashion on the moist grounds meant for training. Although his eyes were closed the man stayed true to his clever nature, in secret he extended he slowly extended his chakra away from him taking in a mental map of all the beings and people passing through the area. The moment was peaceful, times like this where of the utmost important to Ōsharu, life was not guaranteed thus it should be spent enjoying the little moments when they came around.

"It's a good thing I came here early, a little peace and quiet before we turn things up a bit . . . Heh! . . . Surprise spars are the best! . . . Oh! Looks like she's here . . ."

While still on his back the man brought both his index and middle fingers of both his hands together in the shape of the clone seal. The blue mop that he called hair began to shake against the ground, specs of salt began to fling out before streams of it began pouring from his ears, the salt accumulated beneath the man before his head was tilted up. The salt began to take shape as the upper torso of a replica of the man began to use it's arms to push off of the ground, both the man and his copy assumed their full heights before becoming no longer conjoined. They exchanged a nod before the original staggered backwards, his voice seemed ghost like as it trailed in his wake.

The clone stepped out of the mist and met the girl, her pink komono matched well with the blue nature of her hair, this characteristic was something that she shared with her sensei. He flashed a smile while waiving with his left hand, his right slid into the pocket of his charcoal grey pants. "Hello Zephyr, I'm glad you came and have accepted to be under my tutelage! . . ." His hand now began scratching at the back of his head as he let out light chuckles. "You'll find that I do things . . . Umm . . . A little odd, so bare with me" The velvet nature of his deep voice tried to aid in reassuring the young girl.

"Today marks your first teaching, I was thinking why not start with the clone technique . . . Of course you have to learn it to exit the academy. But, today I was thinking about something different." The man assumed his full height with his military styled boots together heel to heel, his free hand raised in the air with his index finger up. "Do you remember that technique that I performed during the Tilean Wasp Mission?" The man's mind began to wander back to that day and time, remembering the most important events about what took place during the course of the mission.

Aerie was slightly surprised by his entrance, almost ready to grab a kunai. His spooky approach from deep inside the mist was alarming, but soon her heart rate lowered. She smiled and waved back at her new sensei and attempted to approach him. " Hello, Ōsharu-san. " She greeted. However, once he explained his goal of calling her there, she stopped in her tracks and took a few steps back. But instead of taking a fighting stance, she waited until he was finished speaking. Which was a good decision because he spoke of their last meeting. Their first true mission together. The one where she was requested to help protect him against the deadly assassin, The Tilean Wasp. " Y-Yes. I remember. "

It was a day just like the present. The sun was near nightfall and the winds began to shift from humid to cool. Because of the scarce number of free ANBU, Aerie was requested to serve as a temporary guard for Ōsharu, the Juudaime Mizukage. She had previously met with a servant who gave her a cloak and porcelain mask. The mask had the design of a gentle dragon. It's colors were teal and pink, it surprisingly matched Aerie's favorite colors. Nevertheless, she left her home that evening and hid in the darkness while on her way toward the Mizukage's Office.

Upon her arrival, she was greeted by an assistant of the Mizukage. " He's inside. You don't have to speak with him if you don't want to, he's busy with work anyway. But be sure to stay alert. I must leave for errands, so my Taijutsu and Ijutsu talents won't be of use here. Sorry. Good Luck and watch out for...The Wasp. " She'd say, quickly waving and jogging off. She must have a lot of errands to be in such a big rush... Aerie shrugged walking inside the large building and locking the door behind her. She adjusted her mask to make sure it was on tight enough. She then replaced her twin ponytails for a singular one, that way she wouldn't have hair flying in her face if she were to get into any trouble with that wasp man the assistant had mentioned.

She walked up the single flight of steps and opened the large door that led to the Mizukage's chambers. The light of the moon slightly blinded her, so she covered her eyes. She began to approach his desk without a peep, but not after she shut the doors. She had no idea whether she was to address herself to him or not, so she simply stood still until spoken to, if that.

For a little over three hours the Mizukage had sat behind his big cherry wood desk filing away at paperwork concerning the village, all the while he kept extended his chakra to it's utmost max in search of the man that had caused an incidents earlier in the week. The first being an unknown and unmarked package that had arrived at the office, it was addressed to the Mizukage, but it had not returning address. A shinobi bearing traits of the Hyuuga was tasked with examining the package, it's contents were unidentifiable, but it did hold a mass of chakra. Taking no chances, Ōsharu used the Earth Release: Golem Technique and had it dispose of the package through ingestion, it's contents released in an explosion, but left no one harmed.

The one known as Tilean Wasp was making his presence known in the village and there was no doubt at who his next target was to be, thus the added protection by none other than his student. With his senses on high alert, Ōsharu was notified of the familiar chakra signature of his student. Within his minds eye he watched as his student's blue humanoid figure meet with that of his assistant. For whatever reason his assistant left, but the Mizukage paid no attention to it as Zephyr entered into the room. He flashed  a smile as he welcomed his student, then suddenly his face fell. Out of his peripheral vision he caught a glimpse of a glowing yellow object flying toward the giant glass window that overlooked the village, jumping over the desk the blue haired man wrapped his student in his arms while making the half-ram hand seal.

On the giant window overlooking the village fifty or so flying and glowing insects began to form a letter "T", this was the work of none other than Tilean Wasp. Upon wrapping himself around Zephyr a black liquid began to spew from his pores, in a matter of a fraction of a second the two had become encased in a sphere of black liquid, and with good timing. Just as this was done the glowing insects illuminated before causing a huge explosion that shattered glass and debris everywhere within the room. The Mizukage and his student had rolled out into the hallway were his technique was dispersed causing the lobby floor to become flooded with water. First checking to see if Zephyr was alright, Ōsharu then placed his hands in the clone seal and a puff of smoke filled the air.

As the smoke cleared three miniature versions of the Mizukage with abnormal sized heads and eyes stood in its wake, the pupils of their eyes were filled with bright stars as they looked up at their creator, the four exchanged a nod as they trailed one by one into the office. Although the squeaking noises that their feet made were typically comical in nature, the moment was not meant for jokes, his life was at stake, thus the trio went on ahead in search of the Wasp. Turning his attention back to Zephyr, he called out to her.

"Zephyr! Are you injured? If not let's get going, this is what you signed up for right?"

He knew the girl wouldn't be injured, his technique absorbed the pretty all of the force of the explosion and all of the shrapnel that had been launched, thus his tone of voice was playful all most daring. The excitement of the moment had his blood boiling, Tilean Wasp had dealt the first and second attack, rest assured the third was to be the Mizukage's, but first a battle of the senses was at foot.

Even though the young kunoichi was sent there to defend her Mizukage, she had no sensory skills to do so. She could not sense when another chakra was present, but only if it was right in front of her. That is no way to defend. But, alas, it was her duty to, so she stood until action broke out. Unfortunately, it did. Aerie turned to face her new master who was now hopping over his desk. Without hesitation, Ōsharu grabbed her as he jumped, forming a single seal. Water began to spew from his mouth like it was a waterfall, it forming into a sphere and conforming around the duo. Suddenly, an explosion occurred behind the two and sent them and the sphere flying into the hall. the lovely wooden doors were nothing but planks and shards. What a waste.

Aerie rose from her wet position, coughing as smoke and water filled her thought. Catching her breath, she re-positioned her porcelain mask to remain her cover. Sure, Ōsharu knew it was her, but the assassin didn't. He asked her whether she wasn't too damaged from the attack, as playful as ever, of course. She nodded to him and rose from the carpeted floor. The cuteness of the miniature Ōsharu's resonated with her and calmed her heart rate. She nodded, determined to help out. " The exit is this way! " She said, beginning to run down the flight of stairs. She opened the front door the the mansion styled building. The golden door knobs felt cold on her hands. As she opened it, the moonlight shot into her eyes. However, the moon was slightly covered by a dark, winged figure.

" No... " Aerie said simply, taking a step back and reaching into her weapons pouch in the event things got hairy.

From the Chibi Trio's point of view, dust filled the air as they treaded carefully through the debris that littered the floor of what was left of the Mizukage's office. Leading clone came to a skidding halt right at the edge of where the window would be, the giant head of the clone scanned the area for any sign of the culprit responsible for the destruction, but to no prevail. The two other clones followed behind shortly, but unlike the first they misjudged their skidding distance and went knocking right into the first clone. Able to maintain some sort of balance upon being hit the first time, but with the additional weight of the third clone all three went flying out of the office. Fortunately, no harm cam to them as they formed a human chibi chain with the first clone holding on by a broken plank of wood, but this would not last long as the combined weight of the three began to take its toll. Panicking, their squeaky little voices argued with one another over who would take the plunge to save the other two, one hand had fallen and all but three fingers were left to hold them up. Then out of nowhere silence fell over the trio as a winged creature passed over the moon, it's broad shadow scaling the side of the building as it disappeared into the night. The top two clones looked down at the bottom before it rolled it's huge star filled eyes, it released its grasp from its siblings and soon hit the ground with one last squeak and a puff of smoke. The two worked tirelessly to pull themselves to safety before heading back toward their creator.

Following Zephyr down the stairs, the blue haired man's senses were on high alert despite knowing the Wasp would not be sensed, but the man hoped he would slip up by performing a jutsu, thus he searched. Upon the clone dispersing the information regarding the winged creature and the direction of it's travel transferred into the mind of the Mizukage causing him to stop, based upon it's direction and he and Zephy's location they were being led right to it. He reached out a hand to stop the girl but it was too late, the large doors opened revealing the Wasp. The man's physical features were difficult to distinguish due to the cover of the night with the exception of his two large artificially crafted wings which rapidly fluttered keeping the man a float as he looked down at the Kirigakure shinobi, small flashes of light flickered as the wasps that the man used in his jutsu swarmed around him. Wasting no time, Ōsharu darted passed his student and onto the village's streets, forcibly drawing the man's attention to him and off the girl. The Mizukage and his student had been paired together before on a mission, thus based upon the prior knowledge he felt more than confident that she could handle her own while he advanced.

"Damn! I can't have the village getting too messed up so much of my Suiton techniques are out . . . I do have that technique, but it's still in the process of working out the kin-" The Mizukage's thoughts were disrupted as he, viewed a swarm of angry wasps heading his way. More or less, instinct kicked in and his body began extending chakra throughout the ground below him calling out for something lying deep within the earths core. As the man's arms swung from the left to the right in a push and pull motion gray minerals began to release from the earth and form a barrier in front of him and the entrance to the building, the timing was spectacular as the wasps crashed into it and exploded on contact, minerals of sprayed everywhere. A cold stare was exchanged between the two men before Ōsharu made a thrusting motion with his hands, the salt that was left of the barrier in addition to an even greater amount derived from the earth was then sent at the man at blinding speeds, what lie ahead was unknown, but if the Wasp was not quick more than one problem would soon be on his hands.

The increasing sound of the squeaking footsteps of the two remaining clones filled the air and made known of their presence, after making their way down the stairs they took position on both sides of the Mizukage's student awaiting to be deployed be either Kirigakure shinobi at a moments notice.

The sudden actions of her village leader left Aerie in a stunned position. She had assumed an acting stance, but it was shut down by her sensei. She has sworn to protect him, but all he's doing is doing her job for her. She stood frustrated as he fought for his life — alone. She clenched so hard at her helplessness that it began to hurt, and maybe she deserved it. Her quiet pain was cut short as squeaking was heard behind her. She quickly turned, her hair swinging elegantly in the moonlight. Her cheeks began to flood with a light redness that symbolizes cuteness. She simply adored the adorableness of the small version of Ōsharu. They were just so cute. However, she could remember that he summoned three of them, not two.

" Wasn't there three of you? " She asked, her voice sounding rushed. She was in a hurry after all. " Well, " One of them said, his voice was extremely comical it made Aerie smile underneath her mask. " It's a long but short story. Lets just say he died. " He finished, the other giggling. The first one turned to it's identical sibling, causing the second one to reform in an almost saluting manner. Aerie giggled again. She then snapped back into reality and began jogging out into the mist filled battlefield. The squeaking of her comrades' feet was very comical, but their abnormally cute faces were deadly serious. As she stopped behind her opponent and out of sight, she thought of a plan. " Alright, " She whispered. " We jump into the air. Using our proficient ninja skills, we will launch fairly high without any true ability. However, it won't be enough to reach him. I'll need you two to flip behind me and kick my feet, propelling me close enough to perform my newest attack. Okay? " The two nodded and prepared to jump.

Aerie unsheathed her blade and took on a courageous persona: Zephyr. Her eyes shifted from playful to deadly serious and she launched into the air. The two chibi Ōsharu right behind her. Zephyr took her right hand from her blade and gave a thumbs up to the clones. It was the signal. They instantly performed the plan and put all of their small chakra force into her propulsion. She grabbed her blade and performed the stance as if she was skidding across the air and preparing to hit a baseball. Using all of her might and enough chakra, Zephyr's blade became engulfed with gashing winds. She was merely a meter below her target and she swung. " Wind Release, " She said silently. " Vacuum Sword! " Surely if directed correctly, the deadly winds would be enough to slice away the Tilean Wasp's flying mechanisms and gash his back.

From an outsiders point of view, one could tell that something was definitely up with the Juudaime Mizukage's attack pattern. Unlike the smooth transitions and attack patterns seen with his Suiton | Water Release techniques, when it came to this new one things simply didn't flow. The fact of the matter was that despite blocking the small scale explosions caused by Tilean Wasp, the Mizukage's had very little experience with utilizing this form of Rock-Salt jutsu, thus his actions were limited to simple defenses. The information and experiences that his Chibi Bunshin experienced before their timely death flooded into Ōsharu's mind, this caused him to hesitate slightly and as such he paid a significant price. A small swarm of wasps bypassed his barrier of rock-salt and detonated ten (10 M) from his location, although not much of the heat factor was felt, the force sent the Mizukage slamming into his administration building. Smack Smack - Twice the sound of the man hitting the building then the soft damp earth below him, this feat earned a more then confident laugh from the Wasp as he began to fly in closer to take the life of the leader of the Village Hidden in Mist.

Tilean began a series of hand signs which upon their completion doubled the amount of glowing wasps that surrounded him, in his mind this final attack would be the finisher, but before he could send them off the crunching and severing of metal sounded in his ears as the blue haired student of the Mizukage dismembered the man's flying devices. Shaking off the effects of the blunt force he experienced from the explosion, Ōsharu viewed the end results of his student's work. A proud feeling washed over him as he saw the man flail helplessly as he fell to the ground, refusing to let this hinder him he began to weave a series hand signs before bringing his hands together and simulating a clap. He muttered to himself, "Doton: Chidōkaku | Earth Release: Moving Earth Core"

"Well done Zephyr! . . . Now to force the submission and prevent any other damage or anyone else from being hurt . . ."
His thoughts were plagued by the success of his students attack on the Wasp, but the job was not over. Upon, the clap sounding the earth around the man rose skyward with incredible speed forming a twenty-five by twenty-five by twenty-five meter cube. Tilean's descending body met the earth with a great enough impact that caused a cloud of dirt and debris to rise up, there was no doubt that he would be left in an unconscious state. Ōsharu did not worry about affecting Aerie with the skyward moving earth, the descent  that she would make would allow ample time to see the technique spawning, thus providing time to prepare and/or brace for impact.

Upon both his student and the Wasp touching down on the earth Ōsharu began to mentally slow it's ascent until it came to a complete stop within the air, his hands began another series of hand signs only this time he stopped in the Half-Ram position. "Earth Release: Golem Technique", Ōsharu called out as one by one a pair of arms made of stone rose from the ground and pushed against it before sprouting a full blown Golem with the same characteristics. Meanwhile, the glowing wasps that were in the air flickered before falling to the ground and losing their luminescence, the Mizukage motioned the Golem forward through sheer will and it began scooping up and consuming the wasps. As its stoned teeth crunched on their bodies small pops could be heard before black smoke began streaming out of its mouth and nose, it then went over toward the assassin and laid upon him, thus preventing any other  movements.

"Aerie, nicely done utilizing the trio… Err…. Duo, in the execution of your attack! Very nice work indeed… Thanks! Because another second sooner and the village might be looking for their eleventh Mizukage…" The dark and velvety texture of the man's voice called out to his student before he gave a light hearted chuckle…

[ E N D   O F   F L A S H B A C K ]

Deciding it was time to get up from his state of relaxation Ōsharu canceled his clone technique, it would soon turn into a pile of salt before his student. His footsteps echoed as he made his way through the mist and stopping in adjacent position from where his clone was. "It would appear you have some admirers Zephyr . . ." Rather than awaiting a response, the man brought his hands together to form the clone seal, the following words were muttered as a cloud of smoke erupted in between him and his student. "Chibi Bunshin no Jutsu | Little Child Clone Technique" Upon the dissipation of the smoke, the trio of big headed clones rushed forward hugging at the girls legs. This managed to achieve a chuckle from the blue haired Mizukage. "So… It is your turn to show me the technique my young apprentice."

Aerie had succeeded in apprehending the assailant, but she was falling from about twenty meters (20M) in the air, her accomplices sharing the same fate. However, when they crashed against the hard pavement, they simply exploded into small clouds of smoke. Aerie only wished her fate would be the same, but it was all delusion. Once she snapped back into reality, she became Zephyr once more. Using her training, she simply fell to the pavement and used her hand as a balance. She then spun and flipped from her elite position and landed on her feet. However, her clever display of athleticism didn't last long because the very ground below her feet began to lift and pull into a shape that her master was creating. Using her ninja talents, Zephyr began tumbleweed flips until she was a safe distance away.

A giant figure known as a golem began to form right before Zephyr. It's formation, despite being made of minerals and dirt, was beautiful and organic. It brought sparkles to Zephyr's eyes and she became the sweet, clumsy, and less-elite Aerie once more. Sure, Aerie and Zephyr are the same, but when Aerie becomes what people call a " Try-Hard, " she tends to go by her alias or middle name. She just as optimistic, but more intent on victory or success. As the golem reached above Aerie to grab the micro wasps, Aerie squatted and cringed as she covered her head. It was a bit sickening and almost drove away all signs of beauty. As the golem finished, her master began to speak. She thanked her for her help and complemented her on her utilization of all variables in her attack. " Thanks! " She said almost too happily. She lightly chuckled at his joke about his death, at least he wasn't one to dwell on death.

Opening her eyes after taking a moment to remember the dangerous events from that day, Aerie would notice that the man before her wasn't actually her sensei, but a clone made of salt water. A pile of salt was now lying in its wake. Aerie was a bit shocked, but her knowledge of her sensei's clan answered any questions she could possibly have. Her sensei used the adorable technique once more so that the trio could show their affection for her. She happily hugged the trio while lightly giggling. However, she was now tasked to mimic his technique, one she had barely any time to practice. " Alright. " Aerie said, nodded and lightly shoving the trio toward their creator. She knew of the normal clone technique, but one that involved morphing the appearance of her clone would be new to her. She clapped her hands together and shifted her fingers into a single seal. At that time, she began to gather and perspire her chakra into one transparent glob of energy. She then cut that chakra into three individual pieces that began to shape into clones of Aerie. Then, using her chakra control, Aerie began to morph the shape, size, and every other quality of these clones into small, comical versions of herself. This process all happening within about five seconds. It was long, but short for her first time using the technique.

Once the technique was completed, three clouds of smoke appeared in a loud poof! Three small and adorable clones of Aerie appeared before her smiling. They turned toward the trio clones of Ōsharu and smiled, one of them waving. Aerie jumped up in down in excitement, she was happy that she had succeeded. " Haha, Yes! " She would say, stopping her victory dance and looking at her sensei for his response.

The Chibi Bunshin trio that mimicked, for the most part, the physical characteristics of their creator had been shoved away from their new friend. One of three clone's eyes began to swell from being turned away from the blue-haired student of the Mizukage, it's attempt at sneaking back for another hug were stopped in entirely by it's siblings, thus forcing them to drag him back to their creator. Ōsharu giggled slightly as he thought back to what he thought back to the creation of this technique. At the age of fifteen, a younger version of the man had spent a year at the bottom of the sea surrounding Kirigakure no Sato as a training regime forced upon him by the people of his clan. Sometime during the little off time that he had, Ōsharu attempted the creation of clones through the use of the Kage Bunshin Technique, yet what he got were the Trio. Refusing to believe it was failure on his part, Ōsharu blamed it on the  water pressure of his environment, thus the reason behind their small and compact stature. Originally, they were thought of as useless, but over the course of time between then and the term he's served as Mizukage the Trio has shown to be nothing but useful with also providing a comedic value to any situation. Simply a slight escape from the harshness of the shinobi world.

With the trio back at his side Ōsharu watched on as Aerie  prepared the technique that he displayed. While his eyes scanned over her form, his chakra extended outward catching her within his range and allowing him to get a sense of how she molded and shaped her chakra. From the looks of things, the young girl was on the road to perfect imperfect copies, but he knew not to count his chickens before they hatched. Thus, he waited until the three clouds of smoke cleared revealing the miniature trio resembling his student. He chuckled at her success before giving a thumbs up out of approval. For quite some time the two sets of Trios interacted with one another while Ōsharu and Aerie discussed plans of their next meeting.

"Yep… Our next meeting will be soon, look out for a letter from a messenger bird in the near future.", and with that said the man and the trio disappeared into the mist.

The cute doppelgangers that Aerie had summoned were greeted by a trio of equally cute clones of their master. As the two trios conversed, the real blue haired duo giggled and chuckled. Their presence was just so comical and adorable. That sense of warmth and relief really distracted the two from the harsh ninja world around them. Death, injury, and heartache; all pieces of the big puzzle people call the ninja world. As the trio finished up their shot conversation with the other blue haired trio, they turned to Aerie and put their hands onto hers, transferring their information and poofing with a cloud of smoke. Aerie would let out a light giggle at the chibi's conversations.

Her laughing session was short lived as her sensei began to speak. He informed her of their next meeting and disappeared into the oddly thick mist behind him. Aerie nodded and let out a fist pump. " Alright. " Aerie would say as she turned around and began walking out of the training grounds that were occupied by mist and trees.
