Dojo Master #3:

The other students waved as Daisuke walked into the dojo again. They never waved to him before, but he had been in the village just as long as any other Genin, and some Chunin. And perhaps even longer than some, as there were those that had advanced through the ranks at a younger age. He did not care about ranks, because to him, they meant nothing. He just wanted to train, to get stronger, and survive in the world. Whether that strength and expertise came with a rank was of no importance.

The instructor he had spent his time with here previously was here once again. However, this time, there was another student beside him. Daisuke had no idea who this other student was, having never seen him before, but it was clear that he was there for the same reason. The same look he knew he held within his own eyes, was in the look of the other boy. They had both been brought here under the guise of showing the instructor what it was they could do. Now, instead of fighting him, they were to fight each other.

Simple, it seemed. Too simple. What could the instructor learn from that that he hadn't learned already? He could learn how they would respond to each other, but the instructor, in Daisuke's mind, would not learn anything new about their individual skills. So, because of this, Daisuke presumed there was something more to it all than learning.

"Is there something we're being geared up to do?"

The instructor smiled. "Hai, Daisuke-san." But that was all he said. He stepped away from the pair, and put himself in a position to observe. Well, whatever the reason, they seemed to at least be keeping it a secret as of right now.

"There are some weights here. I wish you to use them, and then engage in normal hand-to-hand combat. Of course, you may use kunai, shuriken, and the like, but for now, refrain from using chakra." Weights, restricting movement to build up reflexes and strength and the ability to move faster. The point was not lost on Daisuke, but was this kind of training so ... secret or intense that he needed to be tested as he was to be deemed ready? It seemed to Daisuke that even now, the full truth was not being explained.

Training, however, would make him stronger, so no matter the reason, he put forth no argument, and began strapping the weights on. Under leg-braces, the weight went on, under bracers, the weight went on, and gloves and tabi were only re-applied, to keep the feet and hands protected during a fight.

And with that done, he was ready to face his foe, whose name he had not even been told. Not that it mattered.

Flat palm struck forward and was deflected by the outside of the opponent's forearm. Brushed aside, a kunai struck forth in a stabbing motion, only to be deflected by the side of the blade of the opponent's kunai. Next, his body crouched, ducking beneath the danger of a spinning crescent kick. This opened up the chance to sweep out the opponent's other foot, only to be denied as their body leaned back and away, moving into a backward flip.

Back and forth, Daisuke and his opponent fought in this fashion. Back and forth, they exchanged blows, only to evade. It was a pretty even match up, even with the added weights. They clearly noticed a decrease in their bodies' reflexes, but both were seemingly equally affected that it did not bring enough of an opening to take advantage of.

Not to mention, this was not the usual style of Taijutsu, that Daisuke relied upon, which meant to him, that neither was it his opponent's usual style, for otherwise his broader expertise with such would have made up for the speed handicap. He had no idea, in the end, what his opponent's usual style was. That was the downside to being from a clan. Everyone knew what you were ultimately capable of because of how well known the clan was. He had no such prior knowledge of his opponent.

Breaking from his opponent, he leaped back, and set his stance to prepare for something new. He was winging it in regular taijutsu, so he threw a kunai forward, and another up and to the side a bit. He then rushed forward, and as his opponent danced to the side to avoid the first kunai, Daisuke leaped into a simple extended kick, pushing his opponent further to the side. In time, that second kunai would reach a maximum height and descend, and only barely did he evade that, as it crashed to the ground behind him. Then Daisuke's fist would meet the guy's chin, sending him back into a tumble along the ground.

After a tumble, the other ninja disappeared in a puff of smoke, with a log of wood finishing the tumble all the way to the dojo's wall. Standing straight, Daisuke huffed deeply, and smoothes the wrinkles in his outfit while taking a glance around the area. "So much for no use of chakra."

The other ninja reappeared, dropping back into place on the ground in front of the bit of wood that had tumbled for him. The instructor chuckled in response, shaking his head a bit. "Hmm, yes, I said no chakra. But, from this point on... feel free."

"Hmph, how convenient," Daisuke murmured, scooping up the nearest of his kunai and putting them back into place.

The other boy charged forward, but the style of taijutsu would be different. Daisuke expected this, and he expected use of chakra this time. The boy pushed a fist forward, and for Daisuke's gut, but it seemed no different than any of the other punches this far. The weights still slowed him down, but he pushed back, moving out of the way. Even as he did so, the boys knuckles warped, and extended, pushing the bone through his flesh, into something like claws. Daisuke still managed to get away, but it nearly tore through the jacket he wore.

So, as it turned out, this kid was also part of a well known clan. However, while Daisuke had the dog leaning out of his jacket and the fang symbols on his cheeks to identify himself, without mention of name there wasn't anything to mark the kid as a Kaguya till he started using his own clan's techniques. Daisuke would not have much time to deliberate, for as he was still propelling backward, away from the slash of knuckle bone-claws, the bones from the tips of his fingers pushed through flesh, and fired forward.

With the plant of one heel, Daisuke flattened himself to the ground, his head doing a bit of a bounce, sending a surge of pain down his spine and the back of his head. With a snarl, he lifted both legs, as the finger bone bullets smashed into the wall, and leaped back to his feet. Digging in, he pushed to the side, and away, as the other came at him again with bone claws. Extracting a kunai, he deflected some of the blow, as he spun around and away.

The tiger seal was formed and held as he propelled away, charging chakra. With a push of his foot, Daisuke leaped upward, evading another barrage of finger bullets, and arched in mid air as his body spun in wild circles, coming back down towards the top of the boys head. The added weight made the crash down on the Kaguya boy faster, this time, instead of slower, and the boy only had a sparse amount of time to create more bone under his flesh, and create a shield within his body.

Even though Daisuke had brought the other boy to his back on the ground, he would be leaping away quickly, as an arm with knuckle claws extended swiping at him. Daisuke even spun about in mid air, sheltering the pup within his jacket from danger, and taking a close shave against the side of his body. With a grunt and a groan, he continued to spin in mid air, and eventually landed on his feet a short distance away.

In this fight, there was already something he knew he had to train in, something he would have to learn from his own families skills, but he had a feeling there was something the instructor wanted him to learn here as well. The Kaguya boy had already used a lot of chakra, simply by counting off the number of times he had made weapons with his bones. Till now, Daisuke had mainly just kept himself alive by avoiding the attacks. But, he was wounded, so while his foe had used more chakra, there was still the possibility of losing the fight.

Injured or not, Daisuke had to make an impact, and had to make his move fast, or the Kaguya boy would maintain the upper hand. He slipped Shou out of his jacket, and set the dog down on the ground, and with a bit of chakra focus, he forged the seal needed. Once more, Shou would transform into a perfect replica of Daisuke. Together, the two ran in an arch around the other, in opposing directions.

Once more, finger bullets streaks away, missing as the two rounded around him. But, contrary to the expectation, Daisuke took out some of his kunai, and hurled them at the other. One after the other, they struck the ground, causing him to move closer to Shou. Shou curled up and launched himself into an attack. The spiraling barrage struck the Kaguya once more with a layer of bone to protect him. He turned to face Shou, and slashed forward, his knuckle claws striking a Kunai used to block.

From behind, Daisuke spun in, and struck the boy. Forward, he fell, into Shou.... who vanished in a cloud of smoke, abandoning Daisuke's bulkier form, and dashing between the legs of the two, as Daisuke's assault bore him to the ground. They tumbled to the ground, and Daisuke rolled away from the other boy in the end. He hit the wall in the end, and did not get up right away.

The instructor stepped forward and scooped Shou up, to pet him on the head. Medic ninja stormed over and started looking them both over. "I think that will do for now, you both did very well. In the end, I think that, Daisuke, your opponent had finer chakra control, and perhaps, a larger pool in the end. I have plans for your training, but before we get to that... you should focus on chakra control training. Have you ever done the tree-climbing exercise?"

Daisuke shook his head, but he had heard of it. He had never had an instructor, so beyond focusing his chakra upon his feet, he knew nothing about the exercise. But now, he thought about it some more. And perhaps, tomorrow, he would begin throwing himself at it. If it helped him last longer in a fight... well, training was training.

"Very well, Daisuke-san, then you shall begin tomorrow, yes?"
