Missions:

Sometimes Chikara wondered rather or not the Mizukage wanted the death of numerous Genin and Chunin. It was the only plausible reason she could come up with for assigning a task that had these foot soldiers of the shinobi force risking their life to clean an area people rarely visited in the first place. It wasn’t like they didn’t know the reputation the place held, heck it was called the Drowning Path, leaving no room for misinterpretation unless the one misinterpreting the entire thing had less brain cells than a micro organism. Not much could be left to the imagination when one heard of a place known as the Drowning Path, at least not in the opinion of the eldest Shurajo sister. Its reputation was the same as its name, the cause of so many deaths thanks to the unpredictable water which state of being was as fickle as her sister. One moment it could be calm, giving tourist and villagers alike a place to relax whilst they looked out at the water, but could quickly become a chaotic force to be reckoned with at a drop of a hat. With the help of its victims, the waters had claimed numerous lives and would continue to do so until people finally got it into their head that unless they could effortlessly stay above the water that they should stay out of it. Unless of course that person desired to commit suicide in which case there really was no stopping them from plunging themselves into the water, welcoming death either by drowning or being crushed against a rock.

No matter what though, being tasked with maintaining the cleanliness of Kirigakure by ensuring that the Drowning Path was free of discarded cups, paper, plastic, etc., was simply ludicrous to Chikara Shurajo, and Kurisu shared the same feelings as his leader. Except it was more for the simple fact that if her chakra control was disturbed for even a second at the wrong time that she would most definitely drown or be crushed against a rock. No matter how strong she was, fighting something like water was something that would only tire her out and she would lose the fight fairly quickly. And it was because of this huge risk to her life that she had brought along her sister, somebody that could pull her out of the chaotic waters if she were to fall into them whilst she cleaned up the area, and she would do the same for her sister. And so with the chances of death decreased, she walked upon the water, picking up the stray wrappers and paper left by tourist and residents alike who didn’t give a damn about who had to clean up after them. All should be ashamed, no matter who was involved, but it wasn’t like she would go out of her way to reprimand these people. That wasn’t her job nor would it be, at least not for quite sometime. Either way, she continued to stuff garbage into a black trash bag, Kurisu taking care of the trash not near the riverbank, and in the next hour the Shurajo siblings and their pups were done cleaning up.

Shinku Shurajo

The Second Crimson Princess

For the first time since the duo had met one another, and since they had been stick with cleaning on and off, Shinku actually agreed with Chikara. Now it wasn’t like this was a rare thing at all, the younger Shurajo tended to agree with the older Shurajo often, though these agreements rarely pertained to the importance of cleaning up. Shinku was the sort of person to do assignments merely because they were there, and held little regard for what may be apart of the assignment. She could just as easily pick up a clean up assignment as she could pick up an assassination assignment, though to be frank she would definitely prefer the latter over the former. It was just something she was well versed in, and quite frankly she enjoyed doing it, though that may only be because of her upbringing, which could be considered strange to say the least, but since it had been the only thing she knew before she started to live with Chikara, it was normal.

As for why she agreed with her sister, well that had everything to do with their most recent assignment, which was dangerous and quite frankly a stupid thing for anyone to do due to the reputation of the place. It wasn’t a tourist attraction by no means, something that Shinku knew very well despite having been in the village for a month or two, maybe even more since she didn’t actually keep track of time. Anyway, the place they had been assigned to clean up had been the Drowning Path, a place infamous for the souls that it had taken either through drowning or the waves crushing the victim up against a rock.

As to why the Mizukage would task anyone to clean a place that had even claimed the lives of Jounin was beyond her, but she hoped there was a very good reason besides maintaining the cleanliness of the village. Without a word, she set out to clean the bank of the water, doing well to make sure she had a firm footing so that she didn’t end up sleeping into the water. She also kept an eye on her sister, for she hadn’t just been brought along to help clean but to also save her sister should she go under at the worst time. With Arisu and Kurisu helping her, the process of cleaning the riverbank had been easy and swift enough, so much so that she decided to collect the garbage in the surrounding foliage just to ensure that the job was done well.

When her sister went from the waters to solid land, Shinku stopped watching her, for the older Shurajo was no longer in any danger. And after she was sure that she had collected every last piece of trash that she could see, she would head over to her sister, glancing at her full garbage bag before staring into her crimson eyes with her mismatched ones. Finished with their work, the duo would head home, dropping the garbage off into a trashcan along the way.
