Two in One! [Dante/Open]

Chiisai let out a deep breath as she fiddled with her hat. A small smile was spread across her face as she waited for her squad mate to arrive. She reached into her back pocket and pulled out the mission briefing. There was someone spreading rumors about the Raikage all throughout the village. Rubbing the back of her neck, Chiisai shifted from foot to foot. Was it really necessary to make this kind of thing into a mission? Luckily, that wasn’t their only mission for the day. They were to travel through the village to the gates and keep an eye out for the criminals while patrolling the gates. Maybe they wouldn’t run into the criminals? Chiisai hoped they didn’t. She honestly would rather have to avoid violence.

Shoving the mission briefs back into her pocket, Chiisai made her way through the village towards the meeting point her team had decided on. They were to meet at the foot of the gate before beginning their patrols. When she arrived at the gate, Chiisai leaned against the gate, looking up towards the top of it as she waited for her teammate.

Dante walked non chalantly through the streets of Kumogakure. Would they really be called streets though? Maybe roads would be a better word or maybe not. Never the less Dante felt calm and cheerful today. His dark past shoved into the back of his mind as he walked. He had almost forgotten about what those men had turned him into. His hand brushed against one of his Katana that rested through the fabric Dante would call a belt that was wrapped around his waist. This snapped him back to reality. His smiled as he thought about his dear friend who had rescued him from his past. This friend was currently at home. Dante did not favor bringing him along on missions, so he often left him at home.

Today's missions would be more or less a cake walk. Him and his squadmate were to patrol the gates of Kumogakure, as well as search out any criminals that were spreading unwarrented rumors throughout the village. Dante despised those kinds of people. There was no point for spreading rumors amongst the village getting the people rilled up. Dante shook off the thoughts are he saw his squadmate standing at the gate waiting for him. He would begin to wave at his squadmate from afar. A welcomnig smled stamped on his face.

Chiisai stood up when she saw her squad mate come into view. Smiling brightly, she bowed her head. “Hello!” she chirped out, looking over him. Her squad mate was a few inches taller than her. Looking up towards him, she nodded firmly. “Right, so we need to patrol the gates while keeping an eye out for the ones who are badmouthing the Raikage and spreading those lies,” she explained. Chiisai knew her teammate was probably well aware of the mission, but she couldn’t help but repeat it for her own sake. Her teammate made her somewhat nervous. She didn’t know him that well. They had been in different Academy classes for the most part. When they were both assigned under the Raikage, Chiisai was honestly baffled by the whole thing.

Still, they had a mission to complete. So, she reached up and tightened the forehead protector that she wore around her rather colorful had as she turned to begin walking along the gate. “Should we try getting on top or just walk along it?” she asked him. This was her first time on patrol honestly, and she wasn’t sure what they needed to do exactly. This was honestly the closest she had ever gotten to being outside the village. During her entire childhood, especially after her parents were executed, Chiisai spent most of her time in that dusty old hospital that was falling apart by now. The missions she had been taking up were fairly simple and never required her going anywhere near the village exit.

"Yo!" Dante said holding his left hand up. Although his mouth couldn't be seen you could tell he had a smile on his face. Dante nodded as Chiisai explained the mission again. The word Raikage struck a cord within Dante. He had almost forgotten that he was the student of a the Raikage and actually had a team. It felt like some kind of strange dream to him, but this just made Dante never want to wake up if it was. He never wanted to go back to were he used to be. It was frightening, that darkness that Dante had lived in for so long. Dante looked down at his Katana. It was a momento to his past something that he knew he could never really escape.

As they walked along the gate a question escaped from Chiisai. Dante looked over to her then looked up at the outer wall of the village. "Getting higher would give us a btter vantage point." Dante closed his eyes happily answering the question. "Don't worry if you can't see super far. I have the eyes of a hawk!" Dante tried to reassure his squadmate just in case she had any doubts about trying to scan the entirety of the gates from so far up.

Chiisai studied her teammate as he approached her. They both clearly had smiles on their faces, but she couldn’t tell if his or her own even was sincere. Of course, she always had trouble reading people’s emotions to a certain extent. She liked to assume everyone was similar to her, but that was definitely not the case with her teammate. They had different demons and different lives. Walking with her hands behind her back, Chiisai walked towards a ladder that led up to the top of the wall. “I’ll climb up first,” she spoke as she began to climb up the ladder. Once she was on top of the gate, Chiisai peeked over the edge down towards her teammate. “Woah… so tall,” she muttered.

Looking up, her smile grew. The view was pretty cool. Of course, it was always hard to see stuff outside of the village due to the cloudy nature of Kumogakure. “So, should we just look for the usual shady people?” she asked.

Dante followed closely behind Chiisai as they approached the ladder he looked up and smiled. This was his first mission as a Genin. He felt like this was the true starting point to his new life. Something made Dante turn around and when he did he saw it standing there looking at him with dead eyes was himself. The old him to be exact, the him before he was pulled from the darkness. He smiled brightly and turned away from his past and began to climb the ladder. The climb up the ladder seemed to take forever, but when he finally got to the top of the wall he gazed in awe at the village before him. It was a beautiful sight to Dante. He loved this view. Dante just then engraved the image in his mind. He decided then and there that he would come here often to see this amazing sight of his village. Dante liked this kind of thing; by this kind of thing one meant nature and just vast and amazing scenery.

Chiisai's question snapped him out of his awe. He turned to her fumbling over his words slightly. "Y-Yeah We should be able to spot somebody from up here." Dante then turned back towards the village and began to scan the streets looking for anything or anyone that stood out. "So tell me something about yourself Chii-Chan." Dante asked a smile could be heard in his words as he asked his question.

Chiisai watched Dante was he stopped and began to stare out at the village. Her teammate was somewhat odd. She didn’t know how to word it, but something just felt off about him. Oh well, it’s not like she’d actually make a fuss about it. Everyone had stuff that could make them a tad bit odd. Putting her hands in her pockets, Chiisai began to walk along the top of the gate, keeping both an eye out on the gate itself and looking down to the roads below. When her teammate spoke, she nodded along. “Yeah, this is a great view. We’re really lucky the sky is so clear today, otherwise we might not be able to see much through the fog!” She smiled brightly as she spoke, but when Dante continued speaking, her smile almost dropped.

She recovered quickly, and the smile never dropped from her face. “Ah, nothing much to tell!” she said, laughing in an almost mechanical manner. Looking away from him, her eyes shifted towards the old hospital building that stood in the corner of the village gathering dust for a brief moment before looking down to the roads below them. A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she caught sight of a suspicious gathering in one of the alleyways. “Hey, look over there,” she muttered, pointing towards the group, a smile still plastered over her face.

Dante had spotted various things that could be deemed as suspicious, but he was looking for something a bit more suspicious. "Yeah it is pretty clear today huh?" He had then spotted a group, but became distracted when Chiisai began to sound nervous. Dante slowly turned his head and looked at Chiisai. Dante would have been able to pierce the normal cloudy fog of the village. Dante then raised a eyebrow while looking at Chiisai. He knew something was up, but decided not to get into it to much. He understood the want to keep certain things secret. When he looked back over into the village.

The group he had seen was gone, but was soon respotted by Chiisai. "There they are." Dante mumble to himself. They had moved quite a far distance in the short amount of time Dante was looking away. Dante looked at Chiisai once again. "Shall we?" He asked smiling. Even though his smile couldn't be seen he still continued to smile. That was just how Dante was.

Chiisai let out a breath of relief as the subject was effectively changed. Looking down, she cocked a brow with interest. From their body language, it was clear that they were talking about something they thought was pretty funny. Several of the rumors about the Raikage had been on the humorous side. They ranged from vivid stories of him wearing eye liner and dresses as he pranced around the Raikage residence at night when a poor delivery boy saw him all the way to a secret bara obsession that had him going out at all hours of the night to bring back giant beef cakes to fornicate with. Some of the rumors even involved the Hokage and him having a secret rendezvous with white wine and some very lubricated condoms. Needless to say, they were beyond ridiculous.

So, when they spotted the men, Chiisai took a deep breath and began to climb down from the wall. “Yeah, let’s go talk to them!” she said, nodding firmly. When her feet were firmly on the ground, she turned and began to walk towards the group in the alley. The closer she got, the more clearly she could hear them bragging about the rumors they had started spreading. Smiling brightly, she bowed her head in their direction when she stopped in front of them. “Excuse me! Could you please stop making such crude and scandalous remarks towards the Raikage?” she asked, the smile never leaving her face.

The man in front of them stared at them, cocking a brow. “Eh? And what can two brats do about it?” he asked. Chiisai looked back to Dante, the smile never leaving her face before turning back to the men. “You see, there are a lot of accidents that can occur within the village!” she chimed, nodding her head firmly. “There can be mudslides, fires and even freak explosions! They’re very troublesome!” She clapped her hands together, the smile growing wider despite her cold eyes. “The worst ones are murders! Didn’t you use to know that there were two horrible people who killed a lot of citizens? The Raikage at the time got them executed for the sake of everyone!” Her voice was light and almost like bells. “Now, if you keep spreading such bad rumors, people might start thinking they can get away with doing such… bad things despite the Raikage’s presence. You wouldn’t want stuff like that to happen to you- I mean everyone in the village right?” she asked with a soft giggle.

Looking over to Dante, her smile widened. “If you don’t care, my friend can have a word with you!”

From this distance and his trained eyes Dante could easily tell they were laughing about something, and from their body language it would appear they felt confident about something. DAnte was still analyzing the men when Chiisai began to descend the ladder. He snapped out of his analyzation and followed suit behind Chiisai. The two of them progressed though the streets, then into the alley ways of Kumogakure. Their path was set to the group of men they had saw while they were a top of the Village Gates. The finally reach the alley that the group of men were staioned in. The men were clearly talking about the Raikage. Dante began to frown as he and Chiisai got closer to the men.

Chiisai spoke dangerously to the men. This made Dante laugh, but because of his vest covering the lower half of his face no one could see his mouth. As Chiisai spoke Dante began to give off a demonic aura. The atmosphere around the group became one of bloodlust. Dante had gained this through his past it was something he developed and was only percetable to those he directed it to. The group of men began to show fear. Chiisai's words mixed with Dante's aura began to strike fear in the men. "We-we-Were sorry. We will make sure that the rumors stop please don't hurt us!" The men ran off and as they did the aura died down from Dante. He turned to Chiisai with a smile. "Looks like we won't need that conversation after all." Dante replied to Chiisai laughing. "Well i guess we better head back." Dante walked out of the alley and towards the Kages office to validate the completed mission.
