Mission:

Nira let out a soft sigh as she looked at the mission statement. It seemed very odd for a C ranked mission, but well there was not a terrible abundance of missions available at the present, so she had to make due. There were a number of locations where the ca could be, she'd have to check with the villagers and see if any had managed to see the darned cat around.

She made her way first to a meet that some of the local male ninja liked to frequent. Of course she received a number of looks when she arrived, as she did just about all the time. But once she mentioned the cat the seemed to perk up.
"Actually....we were cleaning out some of the old tag boxes from the mines and I think Taro said he heard a cat."

She smiled and nodded despite the dread she felt. Of course it had to be the mines.

Nira didn't take long to find the mines. They were well-known as an incredibly dangerous area of the village, specialists often being dispatched to disarm and dispose of the paper bombs. As she entered the main cave she was met with a deep and echoing silence, broken only by her own breathing. The mines were dark, dry, and full of bats. Not only that but the crates here and there were peppered with warning labels that the tags inside were explosive. Taking a deep breath, Nira looked about and continued her search. The feline had to be here, she just needed to be careful, careful as she could possibly be. It wasn't until she heard that first soft, distant meow that she heard the first click. She had turned, in excitement, and started to rush off in the direction of the sound, only to stop after a second as she almost barreled straight into the nearest crate, her eyes going wide as the top shifted, and the crate began to tilt. She moved quickly, a blur as she spun about and braced her arm against the box, struggling for a brief moment as she moved the crate upright again veeeery slowly. It took all of eleven seconds to move it back into place and she paused, as if listening for any signs of a tag about t go off before she sighed in relief. Another meow sounded behind her, closer this time. LUCKY!

She moved as quickly as she could down the tunnel, moving toward that meowing, an coming to a stop. She was at the mouth of a very large, very spacious cave. The thing was enormous, and she heard a meow comming from the center of an enormous group of crates. At the very top, she could see Mr.Bumblepuss, chewing on an explosive tag! She froze in place, taking a quick survey of the room before she leapt. She raced to the mass of crates an climbed very carefully on, sweating bullets as she tip toed over to the feline, swallowing hard as she approached, making soft crooning noises to try and distract the feline from the tag. The cat looked up, pausing it's chewing to see her. The old cat was pretty energetic, and she felt a flood of relief as the feline hopped over to her and began nestling against her leg. She reached down and picked the cat up, only to go wide-eyed as there was a sharp SNAP. One of the binding threads for the tags had gone undone, and Nira turned to see the crate begin tipping over along with nine others.
Keeping tight hold of the cat, she let out a loud yell of concern as she began to book it toward the exit, followed quickly by the massive roar of the tags going off.

Nira was wide-eyed as she raced down the tunnels, she and the cat both screaming as explosions peppered the area behind them, blasting them clear out of the tunnel and into the next, a loud OOF escaping the young ninja as she was slammed into the wall, and that goddamn cat peed itself.
A sense of disgust immediately swept through her, shaking her head in revulsion as she held the cat out like it was a bomb. Thankfully most of it had only gotten on her shoe, but it still stank something fierce and she grumbled all the way as she left the mines.
