Chikara Shurajo

Chikara always loved dogs, there really wasn’t a reason for her to hate the furry, sometimes naked, little things that could be your most faithful companion or a fearful adversary depending on how one decided to treat their pet. Cats on the other hand, she had no sort of love for but she didn’t hate them either. She found cats to be a bore compared to the energetic dog, cats being lethargic creatures from her limited understanding on the species. She liked an array of other animals as well, even exotic ones, which was a good enough reason to be here, taking care of the needs of the animals that resided within Kiri’s animal shelter. Apparently those who ran the place needed some help, for taking care the sheer number of animals they had was proving to be difficult and it wasn’t like people were lining up at the door to help. So of course the owner had resorted to posting up the problem on the mission board, and she just so happened to walk pass said board when said posting got her attention.

She knew, without contemplating the decision, that she would love to help out the animal shelter, for it gave her time to play with the adorable pets as well as help out. And she wasn’t really doing anything on this particular day, so here she was. At the moment, Chikara was cleaning the dog kennels, it having been tasked to her an hour or so after she had arrived, and what a terrible state they were in. She could tell that the care takers attempted to clean up, for some of the kennels were clean, but one could also tell that they had given up for the job had been left unfinished. So, taking up two buckets, a cloth, and a shovel, she tackled the job, emerging from the area an hour or two later, covered in, er, filth.

Yet never to fear, she was sprayed down, and lucky enough for her, she had brought a change of clothes, having known that she would need it for one reason or another. She did a couple of other jobs around the shelter before she was finally able to play with the animals, specifically the puppies. Chikara doesn't remember how long she had played with the little bundles of joy, but she knew she had a load of fun, and had even gone so far as to name some of the puppies. She would had stayed longer, but she had been called to man the front desk, to greet customers, show them what the shelter had to offer, walk them through the adoption process if they found an animal they wanted, and see them on their merry way. Quite a simple task, though one that had proven difficult for the pint-sized Genin. For one, the desk was taller than herself, so if anyone came, they would believe no one was around and leave. So, the youngling had decided that stand on a chair would give her some height, and it did though she had to be careful, it being one of those chair that swiveled about.

What the care takers were doing, she didn’t know nor did she really care. No, she had a job to focus on. She did wait for a while before customers would come in, she greeted them, showed them the selection of cats and dogs the shelter had, and when they desired to adopt one, she walked them through the process. And of course the process was boring, there being a lot of papers, but soon enough the lovely couple were out with the new edition to the family. Several others would come in, some adopting whilst others just looked. Albeit, soon enough the day was done and Chikara was dismissed. She promised to return to help once again before departing from the shelter, heading straight home with a smile on her face.

Chikara Shurajo

“Uh, Anna-sama, please calm down,” said Subject 0032 of Project Gremlin, otherwise known as Chikara Shurajo. The pint-sized Genin watched nervously as the younger sister of Khala Asthavon tore through her draws, all the while mumbling words that Chikara couldn’t quite catch, but due to how darkly and frequently the woman mumbled them, she assumed that the language wasn’t kid friendly. What had thrown the elder into this state hadn’t been made clear to the little one, for upon arriving at the house to garner details of what the woman required, she had found said woman going throughout her home pulling out random draws and throwing stuff onto the floor in an attempt to find something. When she had called the elder’s name, she had received no answer, the woman far to caught up with whatever she was trying to find to explain what needed to be done in order to complete a mission. The Genin doubt Anna even noticed her presence within the room, and several thoughts popped into her head on what had Anna in such a frantic state of mind.

Feeling like she could no longer bare to witness this woman so distraught over something she clearly could not find, Chikara decided that it was time to step in and offer up her assistance. That’s what she was there to do in the first place, and she would do anything so long as Anna sat down. The woman may be old and frail, but sometimes the Genin wondered if Anna knew that her body was becoming far to weak for certain activities. She wasn’t like her sister, an individual who accepted the fact that she was getting too old for certain things, but any advice she or her papa had went unheard, or at least ignored. No matter, she would help Anna now, though first she needed to get the woman to sit down, take a breather, than explain what she had lost. Which was easier said than done, but there would be no harm done.

Chikara inched away from the front door, advancing slowly towards the elder for she did not want to spook her. The woman may be tough, but even she couldn’t survive the heart attack she would receive from realizing that somebody had entered her house, nonetheless been within it for quite sometime. That and the Genin knew that despite the woman’s age, she had this strange habit of hiding kunai around the house. She really wasn’t concerned about Anna throwing one at her since she would certainly miss, but that didn’t mean she would take her chances.

“Anna-sama, you have to calm down,” Chikara would say once again, now a couple feet from the elder. Anna did not stop. Chikara bite her lower lip as she tried to figure out a way to snap Anna out of whatever funk she was in at the moment. A smile spread across her face as one came to mind. “Anna Asthavon, you stop right this instance and take a seat!” She shouted sternly, stomping her right foot on the floor which caused the elder to jump and turn around.

“Oh, Chikara-chan, I hadn’t realized you were here,” Anna said, sheepishly looking at the pint-sized Genin, “how long have you been standing there?”

“Long enough to know that you are looking for something important,” replied Chikara as she folded her arms, grinning at the elder. “What seems to be the problem, Anna-sama?” she asked, cocking her head to the left.

“Oh, I seemed to have lost my glasses and I can’t remember where I put them,” Anna stated, eyes darting about the room. Chikara paused for a moment, than her hands flew up to covered her mouth in an attempt to cover up her snicker. “What is it?!” Anna demanded, stomping her foot.

“Anna-sama, your glasses our around your neck,” Chikara answered, and with that the child busted into laughter. Anna looked confused for a moment, hands flying up to feel that indeed her glasses with hanging from her neck. Her face was blank for a moment, but a second later she joined Chikara in a good laugh.

“I forgot about that,” Anna would say a couple minutes later when the two had calmed down, collapsing onto the couch. “I am terribly sorry for wasting your time little lady.”

“No time wasted at all. Just next time check around your neck before tearing up your house,” Chikara said. With that, the two exchanged goodbyes and Chikara was on her merry way.
