Garuda would give a depressed sigh as he leaned up against the gates of the village, "How long was he planning to stay there?" Garuda would mumble to himself as he looked up at the sky at his pet owl, who fly around above him. It wasn't like he was really waiting for his return but debating if he should just travel there to see if he was okay, as he felt he shouldn't have sent his , genin, student to a village all on his own. Garuda would look away from the sky and begin to walk back and forth getting more worried by the second as he thinks his student may have died or something worse had happened to him before he made it to Sunagakure, "He has to be dead....that is the only way he wouldn't have returned. BUT I can't accept that! As his master I will bring him back!!!" Garuda would say as he started walking in the direction he thought Suna would be in, a determined look on the man's face. He was planning on going to get his student but something started pulling on the hood of his black coat."Eh?" Garuda would stop and turn his head to see his pet owl, Nana, as the one pulling the hood. Garuda could tell that she didn't want him to go, and that made him smile. So giving a sigh Garuda would begin to walk back over to the village gate, Nana on his shoulder."I guess I can wait a little bit longer.."He would say to the bird.

"Doo, daa, doo, deee, dooo . . ." The young Genin sang as he youthfully swang his arms in the Land of Earth. It was nice to be home and he could also report a mission complete on both halves of his associates. A wide smile not hidden beneath a metaphorical mask like usual, instead he wore it on his face and wore it shamelessly. His hands not even peeking past the lengths of his cloak, he looked much more childish than usual, but he also felt a bit younger. maybe it was due to his meeting with Kasai, he felt invigorated with a new energy, a new fire, new inspiration, he was ready to take on the world. And surprisingly, he was ready to take on his sensei as he narrowed his eyes seeing the man at the gates. But his eyes lost their sharpness as he noted tthe man had a different air about him. Surely the Tsuchikage seat wasn't driving his sensei crazy was it . . . or maybe it was the fact he had been gone for so long . . . naaaaaah. "What's up senpai, the Tsuchikage seat makin yah lose some hairs and turn the others grey?" He chuckled as he walked up to the man and looked at the peculiar owl. "Who's this?" He pointed innocently, in genuine curiosity.

"Does it look like I have lost some...... WAIT! I HAVE GREY HAIR!?!?" The usually calm Garuda would say as one of the things that makes him nervous is getting grey hair. He knows that is a weird thing for someone of his age to get extremely worried about but when someone, like him, is a kage it can be very stressful. Nana who was on his shoulder would fly in front of him and pluck his nose. Gaining his attention she would start chirping as if she spoke like a human, and the weird thing is Garuda seemed to understand her."That's a relief...for a second I thought Kotaro was telling the truth about my hair." Garuda would look back at Kotaro." This my boy... is Nana. And she is like my best friend." Garuda would say as he would point at the bird, who had went back on his shoulder. The bird would wave at Kotaro and chirp once as if she was saying hello. "So how was your trip? Did you do anything interesting at all? I hope you didn't do anything that would shame me or the village...and also I have to tell you something very important." Garuda would say to the boy with a calm expression on his face.

Khala frowned deeply, the plan to get into the village wasn’t going as smoothly as she wanted it to. She honestly just wanted to identify herself at the gates than enter the village to conduct her business before leaving a couple days later, but not having papers on her proved to be her downfall and now she was being escorted to wherever the Tsuchikage was to get permission to enter the village. It made her frown, for there would certainly be some question within the next couple of minutes. A lack of papers, a lack of a forehead protector, and a lack of an escort didm’t bode well for this little lady, but she would not allow herself to high-tail it out of there. Doing so would only ascertain her guilt, besides she couldn’t really blame the village for being cautious. She could be, for all they knew, a terrorist sent by some group to blow up a portion of the village. She wasn’t, but they certainly didn’t know that for sure.

Soon enough, Khala and her escort would arrive in the presence of a man she could only assume to be the Tsuchikage and that of a boy. She bowed her head ever so slightly as a show of respect to the Kage. “I shall assume you are the Tsuchikage,” she said as she played with her headphones, her eyes fixated on his figure. “Sorry to disturb you, as you look rather busy. So I shall skip pleasantries and merely ask. I have foolishly forgotten my travel papers and thus cannot enter your.” She sighed. “My escort has told me that in order to gain access into your village, I must first speak with you. So here I am. What do you say, so that you may return to whatever you were doing before I disturbed you.”

Lacing his hands behind his head as he arched his back to stretched he observed the mans comical behavior. Sure grey hairs were bad, but did the man fear them that much? Well he did have a young face, so grey hairs could certainly be damaging to ones perception of themselves. Especially if the person isn't at a more than ripened age, but Kotaro thought the head of grey hair was a nice look on some. Not all, but some could pull it off, some could even pull off the salt and pepper look, maybe Garuda would find out he was one of those later on. Watching the owl flutter in Garuda's line of sight the avian began chirping to him and seemed to have brought some relief to the man. "Bah" He calmly said as the bird ruined the joke, but all was well still, it was nice to be home.

"Nana . . . ok then cool. Nice to meet you Nana, I hope we are friends for many many moons." He said with a like chuckle to Garuda's next question. The thing with his chuckle was that it could be seen as a nervous laugh as his hands came from over his head and scratch his cheek with a finger. "About that . . . I kinda umm, eh. Damn I couldn't think of a lie quick enough, but all was well ya know. Only issue that arrived was when I was leaving. It doesn't directly involve me, but it looked like some people were attacking the village. I heard some old people I hitched a ride from talking about it too, lots of bandits, but yeah. . . . OH! And I painted this!" Kotaro dug into his cloak and showed his Tsuchikage his painting of the fallen statue he had found when leaving the desert. It wasn't in color, but the grains of sand that stuck in the ink and dried along with it gave the image a sandy tint to it and made the scroll paper look almost golden or coffee stained. "Eh?" Kotaro said as he opened his eyes from his cheeky smile he was giving Garuda upon presenting the painting. Now in their presence was a girl with some weird contraption in her possession and another. Kotaro felt he had seen some kids around the village with them and remembered some guy sold similar looking ones near the entrance of the Rocky Nightclub.

Listening to her story and looking at the one escorting her, Kotaro wondered where this persons papers were. Surely both people hadn't lost their things and it would make the situation a bit less unsettling if some identification was given. Putting his painting scroll away, Kotaro's hands danced in an antsy fritz in his cloak sleeves. With the sleeves being so long though, his fingers were hidden from sight so his anxious movement wouldn't be visible. After the girls predicament was described, Kotaro's eyes would move to Garuda wondering how he would handle the situation. Kotaro hadn't got to see the man take any action as a Tsuchikage yet since he was out on his trip to Sunagakure, so this would be Kotaro's first impression on Garuda as a ruler.

Garuda was amazed at the picture Kotaro showed him, not knowing his student could draw on this level. "This is amazing! You should draw me and Nana!"Garuda would say. And after turning his attention the the newcomer who had started speaking to him. And she started talking right when Garuda felt it was going to be tell Kotaro the news of his teammate, but I guess he would be able to handle this business first. The girls story was a bit sketchy as Garuda for some reason didn't believe her, but he would withhold that judgement for now. Garuda would walk over to her and place his hand on her shoulder, Nana would now be sitting on Kotaro's shoulder." O no you weren't disturbing us young one. And yes I am the Tsuchikage." Garuda would give her a friendly smile as he looked at her, as he wanted to seem friendly when asking his questions. "Can you tell me why you wish to enter the village? And also why are you traveling alone? And if you aren't traveling alone where the people or person you were with are at?" were Garuda's two questions for the young girl. He wanted to first figure out her reasons for wanting to enter the village and his second question was to know if she was traveling with anyone and if she said she was where they were at. As this girl looked extremely young.

As he waited to her what she had to say he would turn his head to look at Kotaro,"Kotaro, before I forget I want to tell you that the important thing I was going to tell you was that....I have picked another student to take under my wing. He is a good kid...and I just wanted to tell you before I have you two meet and we discuss what we will be doing as a squad." Garuda would tell him as he turn his attention back to Khala. The escort that brought the girl here would walk over to Kotaro,"Hand this to him when he is finished asking her questions.." Was what he would say to the boy before leaving.

She abruptly stopped playing with her headphones, the Tsuchikage having placed a hand upon her shoulder. Right than and there, she had the strongest desire to chop the offending hand off or at least brush it away, but she did neither of them. Being perceived as rude would lower her chances of convincing the Kage that she held no ill-intention for his village, and she honestly didn't want to turn back now. Thus when the man had asked his questions, she decided right there that she would be answering them much the same as she had answer that of the escort.

Khala tapped her headphones, seemingly far more interested in adjusting them than answering the Kage, but that was of no matter for he had turned to address the newly dubbed Kotaro. She sighed deeply, tilting her head to the side and putting a smile upon her face. “I have merely come to Iwagakure for some sight-seeing as well as to visit some people and attend to some business before going home.” She answered, it not entirely true but not entirely a lie either. “And, not meaning to sound rude, I don't seem to remember any law against a person my age traveling alone. Though if I had started my journey here with someone, they're currently not within the country and thus not an individual one should worry about at the moment.”

She adjusted her cloak, “anything else you wish to know? For I am quite exhausted from my travels and wish to rest.”

As the bird, Nana, placed itself on Kotaro's shoulder he payed the owl no mind. His eyes were steady locked on his Tsuchikage and the visitor. He could tell from personal experience that she had a tongue of silver, though she was trying to hide it and though he didn't coin onto her reaction at his hand, he knew there was something beneath the surface that she was presenting. From the greater interest in her headphones to the poorly crafted smile for a mask, her being bothered Kotaro, but he would just look at the two in a curious display, before being handed some stuff by the escort. "Yeah . . ." Kotaro said as the man walked off.

Deeply analyzing each word she spat, Kotaro was set on this girl not being any true harm, but he was intrigued. She looked young, younger than him and for her to be traveling alone, it was odd. Not impossible, but truly odd though the way she carried herself and the tongue she wielded did make it seem like she could be traveling alone, she was hardened. As opposed to the buzzing in his mind, Kotaro remained silent as his lips and even the bridge of his nose was hidden behind the collar of his cloak. But his eyes, his garnet eyes, stared at her like the stones they were colored after. She probably didn't care much about Kotaro's presence seeing as he had no rank that carried power or authority and that peeved him deeply, it encouraged him to get stronger though, but it more so pissed him off. The thought of being looked at like a mere ant.

"NO, until you show me the respect I deserve and also pass one test..I can't let you have passage into my village. But don't worry I think you will be able to pass the test as it is simple, but on the respect I think you might fail." Garuda would tell the girl, the friendly smile still on his face. Why Garuda would tell her she couldn't enter was mainly because he felt she was well disrespectful. This coming from her paying attention more to her headphones then him but the main reason was because of the fake smile she put on, as that was uncalled for. If you don't want to smile don't force or put a fake one on just to seem friendly. So enough of how she was disrespectful as Garuda had to think of the little test he was going to give her."Okay, I got it. Your test will be to....touch my student's forehead. Yea that sounds nice." Garuda would say as he would remove his hand from her shoulder and look over at Kotaro, Nana flying off of the boy's shoulder and to the Tsuchikage head."But if you don't wanna do this test...you can head back to where ever you came from. BUT if you accept the test here are the rules. First neither of you can do anything that would harm the other. The second rule is that you must touch his forehead. And the THIRD rule will be that you ummm must......have fun I guess.." Garuda would say as the test or even game he had just made was off of the head. In truth he had already had a test that he had set up..but to him that wasn't much fun. As he wanted to see if the girl could or would do this test he obliviously just made up.

The next things Garuda would say would only apply if the girl agreed to the test."O and Kotaro......If you lose. Lets just say you don't wanna lose...as I have something special planned for you if you do."Garuda would say to his favorite student as he sat on top of a stone with his legs crossed, watching the two his friendly smile still on his face. He actually like that he made up this little test as he was kinda of bored and this would at least give the Tsuchikage some excitement for the moment.

“Last time I respected someone who hadn’t earn such a thing from me, he almost killed me. So I do apologize that you are receiving less than stellar treatment from myself,” she tapped on headphones for the last time, hands falling to her side. She wanted to add that he, as a Kage, should know that just because of the title he had managed to attain didn’t mean people would begin to respect him right off the bat. Especially when said person hailed from an entirely different country and really hadn’t even heard about him up until now. But she refrained from doing such a thing for obvious reasons.

She paused, awaiting to hear this, uh, test that this Tsuchikage would pull out of thin air. And when she heard it, well, let just say that going back to whence she came from didn’t seem like an entirely bad idea. But the simple fact that Fang could had already left the country as well as the fact that this was suppose to be the meeting spot deterred her from leaving. She contemplated her options for a while, and sighed deeply upon deciding that this otherwise harmless test was the better option. “Since my current options are limited, for reason I won’t disclose, I guess I shall be accepting this test.” Khala said, eyes moving from the Tsuchikage’s figure to that of Kotaro.

“Would I be wrong to assume that simply asking to touch your forehead would be answered with a no, Kotaro-san? Or shall we have to tango for a bit? Either option works for me, though I like the one that requires the lest effort. What do you say?”

Touch his forehead? The teens face scrunched up in confusion at the odd choice of a trial, but he immediately shifted his eyes from his Kage to the girl. He was on the defense, but it seemed he had time to think of an idea as he Kage began to spout out rules and things of that matter. His eyes steady on the girl, his fingers were steady scribbling on the inside of his cloak. With he sleeves reaching past his fingers, he had an easel right there. Ink leaking onto his finger tips, his digits moved to finger paint bats in each sleeve. Nothing lower than his eyes visible as he shamelessly stared the girl down, but his attention was summoned by Garuda once more. It seemed upon losing he would be facing a punishment, one which it didn't seem he would be fond of. "You can go kick a pebble." Kotaro would say in response to the girl as he stuck his tongue out and swung his sleeves forward giving birth to myriads of ebony inky bats that would hoard the girls frame from head to toe. As they would squeak and screech, Kotaro hoped it proved an ample distraction as he would hop back a couple paces and roll out the scroll that was resting on the back of his hips by a bandage. With the scroll unraveled on the ground in front of Kotaro horizontally, he would look up at the girl and ask. "So do you want number one or number two?" He would say with a grin, obviously a bit cocky as his trip to Suna had gotten him a bit ahead of himself.

Depending on the girls answer, he would stomp onto the seal, number one harboring Koga, number two harboring his newest puppet Sasori a puppet crafted in the model of a scorpion. In addition to his stomp, he would form the ram seal giving birth to a plume of smoke and the respective puppet with spectral sapphire thread attached to its joints.

“A simple yes or no would had sufficed, but I guess your retort was more amusing than the normal options,” Khala calmly said, eyes on Kotaro. She tapped her headphones, the screeching as well as the squealing of the.... uh... bats, bothered her little. The entire reason for purchasing this particular gear was so that noises wouldn't bother her, and though they did well to muffle the sound of the bats, well she could still sorta hear them. But that was of no matter to her, she had a task to complete. With a frown, she swayed on her feet, contemplating rather or not she should answer the question of Kotaro.

Honestly, why would the boy give her a choice. That went against every battle philosophy she had read and heard of. It was a move she found to be rather foolish, though at least she could tell that she wasn't fighting some spineless boy. This boy, erm Kotaro, was confident in his abilities. That was good. She sighed again, frowning ever so slightly. She hadn't moved yet, far too busy thinking up strategies, which was hard to do given that her entire arsenal would do serious harm if employed. She thought about resorting to fist, but that would cause harm if she landed a strike. Khala was beginning to hate rule number two, it limiting her courses of actions severely. But oh well. Taijutsu was the safest bet, she just had to hold back in terms of strength.

With one swift movement, the youngling drew her sword and sheathed, making quick work of the annoying bat pest that had been in front of her. Without further prompting, and without answering Kotaro's question, she dashed towards him. She desired to reach him before he can summon whatever was in the scrolls. Though she knew that such a desire would depend on luck. Either way, if she reached him in time, she would be kicking those feet from underneath him.

The girl didn't seem to mind the bats a bit and in fact she devoted time into focusing on her damned earphones instead. This made his blood boil with the fury of a starving artist. Not that she was more invested in her headphones, but the fact that she had no appreciation of paid no mind to the screeching nuisances. The look of annoyance was displayed on his face and his chakra levels rummaged uncomfortably inside of him. As he watched her, prepped for the debut of one of his puppets, she then made quick work of the bats. That didn't urk him since they were just bats and they were art that was meant to be destroyed, but what urked him in this case was that he was ignored and she rushed straight on. He wasn't prepared for her not to answer his question and his arrogance or passion to teach the girl respect had gotten the best of him.

"Blah, ya brat." He said with venom as she charged in. He wasn't skilled in Taijutsu, so he knew allowing her to get the intimacy she was reaching for was a bad idea, but he would stay true to his desires of showcasing his unique talents. Forming the correct handseal and slamming his foot upon the scrolls surface in a plume of smoke Sasori was spawned. The smoke would hopefully work to make the girl hesitate or rethink her actions, for she would have no clue what resided within the obstruction. Of course it would only last for a small moment though nothing major, but in that time frame Kotaro would also hop back a few meters since Sasori would work as a blockade in between him and the girl. His chakra threads steady clinched onto the metallic machine, its tail piece would wriggle as the stinger would be eagerly shadowing the girls movements from above as if prepared to strike. Sadly Kotaro wasn't permitted to strike or cause any harm to the girl for that matter and he feared that this rule would be his down fall since most of his skills relied on execution rather than submission or binding, all except for one . . .

Khala didn’t stop her advances. Yes, she didn’t know what laid within the smokescreen that had been erected when Kotaro summoned something from a scroll. Yes, the thing hiding could be very well dangerous. Yes, she was charging in blindly to encounter something that she knew nothing about. And usually she would had halted her advances, for charging in blindly could result in her death, she knew that, anyone who studied battle tactics for a living knew that or at least had some sort of common sense. But this situation was different, far different from any normal one she would had reacted to. So why hadn’t she stopped? Simple really, Kotaro couldn’t hurt her, and that meant whatever he had summoned couldn’t hurt her either. It was quite strange since she had hated rule number two, but here she was right now using it to her advantage. Three rules, all simple rules, only two she would follow. Touch the forehead of Kotaro and to not cause injury to the boy.

She withdrew her sword, for the smoke was clearing, revealing what the boy had summoned. A scorpion, a menacing looking one at that. She quirked her eyebrows in amusement, taking special care to remember that Kotaro was a puppetry, which meant that there were some nasty secrets that this particular puppet was hiding. Of course she didn’t know any of the secrets, but it didn’t mean that she shouldn’t throw caution to the wind. Khala narrowed her eyes upon the puppet, various plans running through her head though frankly she would be going with the simplest one. Without further ado, she preceded to test out the durability of Kotaro’s puppet. And once she assessed rather or not her sword would be able to cut through the puppet, she would retreat, muttering “interesting,” as she looked at the stinger.

"Ahg this is bull crap!" Kotaro yelled in his mind as he knew the girl was taking advantage of the rules. Not that that was unfair, but it was very limiting especially in an instance where he was on the defensive. But then . . . a devious smirk crept onto his face. This was merely a test for his skills. As a ninja battle didn't always mean destroying ones opponent or killing them, there were also times when targets had to be subdued and neutralized and that must have been what Garuda-Senpai was trying to teach or test Kotaro on right now. "Get ready to see some real art ya brat!" Deft digits matched the flaming spirit of the speaker as they danced a sharp and precise routine. A hiss and a mechanical whirling banter would be the warning before the attack was fired at the girl who had swung her blade at the beast to no avail. Webs of ivory would be projected with intentions of pinning the girl down to the surface she was standing on. With the distance in between the puppet and her a dodge could be implemented if the girl possessed keen reflexes, this being something Kotaro hadn't put into the equation. For in his slightly arrogant mind, his plan was full proof, but there still is the chance he would hit her. So if the deities above were smiling upon Kotaro today, the girl would be pushed back and bound against the unforgiving stone surface. Sure her sword could save her, but Kotaro hadn't tossed that into his mind either. Maybe these impervious schemes and plots came when one was more experienced and renown in the Shinobi World.

Garuda would watch the two a bored expression on his face as he did, as the test he made bored him. But he didn't stop the fight right away as he felt he should let them continue it as to see if they could make it, but Nana would start pecking him on his head. As she was also bored and wanted to go and do something else with just them two. Garuda would notice this and stand to his feet, a friendly smile back on his face as began to clap so the two kids could hear him."Well, it seems something very urgent has come up!" And this test will just be called over right now...Garuda would say as he looked at Nana, who was now on his shoulder. He would then turn back to them as he began to talk again."Little girl. I grant you permission to enter the village...and do whatever you need to take care of. But don't cause any trouble as I will kill you if you do."Garuda would say as he would turn his back to them.

"O and please come see me in my office before you leave the village or if you need anything. And Kotaro I want you to send me a full report of what it was like in Sunagakure. I want it to detail anything that you found strange and also about what type of shinobi they have....especially anyone strong ones if you saw any." And with that Garuda would body flicker away.

“I would had felt insulted by your comment,” Khala said, watching the incoming trap that the puppet had fired at her with disdain before promptly cleaving the web in half so that it didn’t meet its mark, her. “If I believed that your brain was capable of comprehending the meaning of the words spewed from your mouth,” she finished, eyes locating Kotaro as she cocked her head to the side, her sword held firmly in her left hand as the fingers of her right hand ran through her hair. She had plans to move, had plans to maneuver herself around the puppet to engage the boy in Taijutsu, as well as plans to touch his forehead so that the task could be complete, but the Tsuchikage had other plans.

Her eyes travelled to that of the Tsuchikage’s form, he calling the test off for something ‘urgent’ had come up. She, at that moment, was quite pleased that the test had been called over by the man, for if he hadn’t the two Genin would definitely be tango’ing with one another throughout the night. “I have no intentions of causing problems in Iwa, making enemies as well as dying isn’t on my to do list,” she nonchalantly said, flicking her wrist before sheathing her blade, eyes still on the Tsuchikage albeit he had turned his back. “Of course,” Khala said, after the man gave further instructions to herself before addressing his student and once he was done, he was gone.

She sighed deeply, facing Kotaro before tapping her headphones. “Nice meeting you, Kotaro, and I would stick around but I have some important business to take care of,” she said, turning her back before walking away, waving her hand dismissively, “goodbye.” And with that, Khala Ryuusei departed from the scene to conduct her business in Iwa.

OG Swank.

OG Swank.
Iwa Genin
Iwa Genin

The flickering ball of ivory was turned into easy work by the opposing Genin as a swift swing of her blade cleaved it through. With a vengeful curse under his breath, his fingers would start up again in another memorized trance inducing pattern, but would only stop from the sound of an authoritative voice. The blunt claw of Sasori would jerk and seemingly stop as if it were jammed, before it got even three inches out, as Kotaro's fist clinched stopping the movement. Watching his teacher with expectant eyes, his face reflected his feeling of anger as the girl was granted permission to enter the village. Sure she was a wanderer and Kotaro always believed in being hospitable to strangers and those in need of a place to stay, but this girl's aura made him feel different. Maybe his senses were off a bit or his persona just clashed with hers in his mind, but regardless a watchful eye would be kept on her at the times he could spare one. The mention of killing her if she caused trouble did tickle Kotaro's senses however, but it wasn't necessarily joy or relief he felt from it, in fact it was a wave of worry.

But those thoughts were washed out of his mind as the Tsuchikage addressed him next asking for a full report on his travels which Kotaro would happily supply him with. "Alright . . ." The word had a plain taste to it as it lazily rolled off his tongue into the air. His attention now fixating upon the visitor with his emotions of worry for er safety gone, he glared at her in spite, sadly some deserving to be relinquished onto Garuda. "He doesn't even know her name . . ." He mumbled as he watched her leave the scene. Was Garuda really this careless or had he received the info some other time? Kotaro had no way of knowing, at least not until he visited the Kage himself, looking up at his idle puppet, he approached and resealed the mass and readjusted his closed scroll. The girl and Garuda were tending to their own business by now and for some odd reason the ink stain from his slaughtered bats only worked to enrage the Genin more. Kicking the ebony liquid causing it to streak on the solid earth surface, he shoved his hands in his pockets and set course for his home.
