Once again Erwin found himself prepping for another visit to the “Bloody Mist” training grounds, one that would hopefully prove rather informational, entertaining, and helpful to his relationship with one of his students. The middle aged samurai didn’t bother with his more formal attire this time around, he stuck with his standard “conflict likely” attire consisting of his custom flak jacket over the usual belt/suspender combination with a tight black undershirt that was tucked into a pair of black slacks, which in turn was tucked into a pair of black combat boots. He wore his metal plated engraved eyepatch as well and was outfitted with his usual arsenal of 15 kunai on three holsters, with explosive tags attached to a few in each, and various utilities in his waist pouches. Of course a samurai isn’t much without his blades, he always had his trusty sabre and wakizashi with him, this time with the sabre on his left hip and the wakizashi on his right. Erwin didn’t bother with his officers jacket or trench coat this time around, they would just get in the way.

Yesterday afternoon Erwin had sent an unofficial letter to Akio Kaguya, the student he was hoping to meet in the training grounds today, that simply stated “If you wish to test yourself or hone your skills I’ll be in the training grounds from 7am to 9am. Erwin.” Hopefully this would gain the young Kaguya’s interest. Erwin wanted to see more of what the Chuunin could do, as well as understand him better, and if he managed to improve Akio’s skills along the way all the better. It was 6:45am when Erwin arrived at the “Bloody Mist”, with his rank and leverage is was easy enough for him to reserve the entire thing for that time. With Akio’s rare bloodline trait and both of their rather destructive techniques it was best to avoid the chance of collateral damage, or the chance of someone unwanted learning of Akio’s abilities. Erwin would wait at the entrance for Akio to show, the whole two hours if necessary, patience was a virtue Erwin was far from lacking.

Having already been awake the Kaguya would be training by himself as he was delivered a letter. Continuing to train a bit more the boy would not go to check the letter until 7 AM. Picking up the letter the boy would surface a thing bone from his finger and use it as an envelope opener. Unfolding the parchment the Chunin quickly skimmed over it.

If you wish to test yourself or hone your skills I’ll be in the training grounds from 7am to 9am. Erwin.

Humming softly the boy took on a curious look as he read the letter over in full twice. So his Sensei seemed to be surprised by his performance, either during their mission they had gone on not to long ago or the training session that Erwin put him along with the rest of his squad through. While he normally would train alone Akio took this opportunity to learn something from his Sensei. After all the Kaguya still needed to learn how to mold his chakra into an actual element since he had been focusing completely on his birth given gift more then the nature affinity of the shinobi, ninjutsu. Along with learning ninjutsu he hoped his Sensei would be okay with teaching him some Bukijutsu, but that could wait for after they trained his ninjutsu.

However, maybe Akio wouldn't have much time since he would need to launch his plan soon. The Chunin had been thinking over and over again about why he was in the village and all he could come up with was to search for his parents, which were likely dead, and Chikara, which he was more then sure that she could handle herself if need be. Since that meant there was no point in both of them subjects the only thing that Akio thought was worth staying was to perhaps lead his clan in the future. With that in mind Akio figured he could do that when he returned, which wouldn't be soon after his departure, but the blue haired Kaguya could deal with his clan when he would come back to Kirigakure.

Continuing onto the training ground Akio had just stepped into the village as he yawned. Walking down the trail to the training ground the shinobi formed a ball out of bone and detached it before tossing it in the air. Repeating this motion Akio would toss and catch the ball several times until he would arrive at the training ground. Looking up at Erwin he held the ball in his hand before absorbing it into his hand. "You sent for me..." The Kaguya commented as he pulled the note out and held it up in front of his Sensei.

While Erwin waited to see if his student accepted his invitation he passed the time by considering what areas or disciplines would be best to cover with Akio. So far Erwin had only seen the young Kaguya perform adept level hand to hand techniques and weaponry based ones that relied heavily on his bloodline ability to grow and shape bone, he was unsure whether or not this was the extent of Akio’s capabilities or simply his most preferred courses of action amongst many. The former is a sound way to go considering the sheer versatility and lethality of the Kaguya kekkei genkai when combined with the physical disciplines but it never hurts to have something to fall back on, and as the boys officially appointed mentor Erwin was in the position help him with just that. Although, given Erwin’s skillset he wasn’t exactly the most versatile teacher Akio could have, but that didn’t mean he was incapable of being an efficient one.

Bukijutsu was his primary discipline, which went quite well with the Chuunin’s kekkei genkai. He was also a capable hand to hand combat practitioner and sensor, with a fair amount of medical knowledge to boot, and even if his student desired to practice with a discipline that he himself did not have Erwin could still teach him about the chakra control and usage involved. The shape transformation that ninjutsu relies on is the same as his own chakra flow bukijutsu techniques, the samurai saber technique being a prime example, and despite lacking an element Erwin’s own signature “Soul” techniques rely on a form of nature transformation. The level chakra control needed to perform sensory and medical techniques could aid in developing genjutsu or fuuinjutsu, however teaching the actual use of either would be a different story.

It wasn’t all too long after 7am rolled around that Erwin spotted a familiar outline approaching the Bloody Mist training grounds through the mist, one that appeared to be occasionally tossing a small ball of something into the air and catching it with the same hand over and over, something that may seem like an odd or perhaps even childish action to some. However Erwin wasn’t exactly like “some”, he knew that simple actions like that helped to hone hand eye coordination and even predictive instincts concerning the path of objects moving through the air, vital traits for a shinobi and a useful exercise whether or not they actually knew they were training them. As Akio got closer Erwin could tell that the ball was white in color and considering that it disappeared after the Chuunin held it in his hand for a moment it was like made of bone, an interesting use for his kekkei genkai.

”You sent for me…” ”I did.” Erwin replied as the young Kaguya pulled out the note Erwin had sent the day before. ”I have the grounds reserved for the two of us so there’s no need to worry about collateral damage. Is there anything in particular you’d like to work on?” He asked in turn, maintaining a friendly but professional tone and demeanor, before motioning for Akio to accompany him into the training grounds itself. It was a good sign that the Chuunin had accepted Erwin’s invitation, he was not at all inclined to. Hopefully he could chip away at his defensive and hostile nature to get a glimpse at the true Akio Kaguya, but all in good time. While listening to anything Akio had suggested Erwin would lead him to the very center of the training grounds where they would be free to fight and train unhindered by the risk of causing collateral damage to other occupants of the training ground or its surrounding structures.

Looking up at his Sensei Akio would nod slowly as Erwin gave him a response. ”I have the grounds reserved for the two of us so there’s no need to worry about collateral damage. Is there anything in particular you’d like to work on?" While he had a few ideas he could have told the older man Akio pretended to be thinking before answering the man. "We could work on some ninjutsu perhaps?" Asking Erwin the student would not actually point out that he did not have an element or even learn how to mold his chakra into an element. "Unless you would like to test me on another area of combat." While he would offer a second option Akio would secretly be hoping the man would agree to train him in ninjutsu. Seeing as he was really focused on learning an element and would like any help his Sensei could possibly give him.

Following Erwin to the center of the training ground Akio would look at the man with a curious look on his face. Although he was a Jounin it was very unusual to be able to reserve the whole ground for just one squad let alone one student and his Sensei. However, the boy would ignore it for the moment as he focused on his Sensei that was standing with him in the middle of the training grounds. Crossing each arm across his body one after the other the Chunin would use his opposite arm to push on the other's elbow to stretch it before moving on to a second stretch. Then he would molding his arm over his head Akio would pull on the arms wrist with the other, repeating the same process with the second arm. Finishing up with the the arm exercise the boy figured he wouldn't need much more since it was just training. Waiting for a reply from his Sensei the Kaguya would take one last glance around the whole training grounds. Still not able to actually think up a valid reason that the man would be able to request to reserve the area just for Akio and himself although it would be no big deal, at least until they ere done with training and Akio had some spare time to probe his Sensei for information.

”We could work on some ninjutsu perhaps?” Ninjutsu eh? Something he wasn’t technically a practitioner of, although he was taught the basic techniques a shinobi would learn in the academy when he was in the Samurai “Youth Program” as a child. Nonetheless he was rather skilled with applying shape and nature transformation to chakra flow bukijutsu techniques, apart from requiring hand seals ninjutsu isn’t all too different from the skills he has learned and created as a Samurai. ”Unless you would like to test me on another area of combat.” Even with Akio offering this alternate path Erwin knew that ninjutsu was what he really wanted to cover, the first suggestion was usually the preferred in cases like this. ”Ninjutsu is fine.” He would reply in the same friendly and professional tone as he lead the young Kaguya to the center of the training grounds.

Upon reaching the center Erwin would turn to face Akio, taking note of the curious look upon his students face. He could only speculate what the boy was actually curious about, perhaps how Erwin had planned to teach him, what he was capable of, or perhaps even how he had managed to reserve the entire training grounds for the time slot. Nevertheless it wasn’t that prevalent, if it was Akio would have probably just asked, he didn’t seem to care about questioning his superiors when they first met. ”Now then, is there anything specific you’d like to work on or did you want to cover the general use of shape and nature transformation?” Erwin asked as the young Kaguya started his stretching exercises, he couldn’t start teaching Akio unless he knew the extent of the boy’s current knowledge. Presumably Akio knew what the terms shape and nature transformation meant, it would have been covered in the academy, but if not then they had a little ways to go before getting to offensive and defensive usage.

Erwin noticed that Akio glanced around the training grounds after finishing up with his stretches, perhaps he was curious about how Erwin managed to reserve the entire thing or whether or not they were actually alone. Among Kirigakure’s Jounin Erwin was one of the more senior and respected officers, he even had some pull with Ōsharu the current Mizukage, reserving a training ground for a couple hours wasn’t a hard task to complete. Not to mention that should things get heated during their training session the risk of collateral damage would be rather high, it was safer this way. Nevertheless Erwin wouldn’t press the matter. If Akio was truly curious he would ask of his own merit and Erwin would answer, if not then he would simply keep it to himself and Erwin would respect his decision, it didn’t affect the main reason they were there.

As they reached the center of the training ground the young shinobi would be glad to hear that his Sensei was okay with teaching him ninjutsu. Having got what he wanted the Chunin simply smiled and waited for the session to begin. However, in his haste he would be caught off guard by Erwin's next question. ”Now then, is there anything specific you’d like to work on or did you want to cover the general use of shape and nature transformation?” Taking a moment Akio nodded slowly as he began to speak. "Yes....I was actually hoping to learn a nature. Also it would help to know what nature I have an affinity for." There was an awkward pause between his actual answer and his more through explanation of what his goal was.

Having admitted he didn't actually know how to form any actual elements or know his affinity Akio knew it would sound odd to most for a shinobi, especially of the Bloody Mist, to not be able to even form his primary element. Although the boy did not seem embarrassed or even worried. He simply thought it would be best to tell his Sensei as early as possible so he could actually learn how to do such a thing before it was too late for him to know. Seeing how he has been putting a lot of stress on his body by using his clan's power he figured it would be good to learn 'real' ninjutsu so that he could add more variety to his fighting style and also take a little stress off of his body. After all the kaguya have been known to live short lives due to their love for war and their strong dependence on their bloodline gift, the dead bone pulse.

”Yes… I was actually hoping to learn a nature. Also it would help to know what nature I have an affinity for.” ”Nature hmm? I believe I have something that can help get us started.” Erwin responded, mentally taking note of the awkward pause while maintaining his friendly but professional tone as he zipped open the pouch on his waist located above his right leg with his right hand, pulling out two small square sheets of paper. There was no hint of him being surprised or disapproving of the Chuunin not having unlocked an element. Sure most would have unlocked one by the time they became Chuunin but it didn’t make them a better shinobi because of it. Erwin himself lacked the ability to use any of the five common elements and he was a man of Jounin rank and fifty-one years old, yet despite this “weakness” he has thrived and managed to invent and apply his own form of nature transformation that relies mostly on the natural yin, or spiritual, energy that lies within everyone.

”This paper is made from a special type of tree that is grown and fed with chakra…” The Samurai held out his right hand for Akio to take one of the square pieces, zipping his pouch shut with his left hand in the process. ”By channeling even the slightest bit of chakra into one of these sheets of paper anyone can discover the nature with the greatest presence in their chakra, or your primary affinity, like so.” After Akio had taken one of the sheets Erwin would hold the remaining sheet in front of him between his thumb and index finger although, unlike the majority of shinobi, when Erwin channeled a small amount of chakra into the paper it was clad in a faint light blue aura that didn’t interact with the physical world; meaning it didn’t flicker in the wind or alter the paper in any way. ”Sadly it can’t tell you what natures come in second, third, fourth, and so on but it’s a start.” He expected that the odd response the chakra paper gave to his chakra to invoke a question from the young Kaguya, after all not many shinobi knew of nature transformations that didn’t involve the five elements. It wasn’t something directly taught in the academy.

”This paper is made from a special type of tree that is grown and fed with chakra…” As soon as Akio heard what exercise they would be doing the Chunin knew what Erwin had in mind. While knowing nature he had an affinity toward would be all fine and dandy Akio knew that it wouldn't do much to help him with actually learning the said nature. Plus, he would still need to actually learn how to mold the chakra into the nature, which was a lot harder then channeling chakra into the little piece of paper that Erwin had presented to him. ”By channeling even the slightest bit of chakra into one of these sheets of paper anyone can discover the nature with the greatest presence in their chakra, or your primary affinity, like so.” Erwin would follow up with as the Kaguya slowly accepted the piece of paper focusing on it for a minute before looking back up at his teacher who was still holding the other piece of paper.

As his Sensei demonstrated the use of the paper Akio would be caught by surprise as the paper responded differently then he had thought it might have. It would quickly be enveloped by a blue aura that seemed to isolate it from the rest of the world, blocking even the small breeze that would normally sway the thin paper. Continuing to stare at the paper the young shinobi raked his brain for a moment as he tried to think of what technique or possibly even nature would cause such a reaction. After several moments the Chunin looked up at his Sensei. "Yang release, energy derived from the physical strength found in ones body." Not waiting for an answer the Chunin saw why his Sensei was fit to wield a sword. After all anyone who could channel that much of raw chakra from yang or yin for that matter was a shinobi to be cautious when fighting.

Forgetting about his Sensei's paper the Chunin would look down at his paper before gently holding it in his right hand, between his thumb and index finger. Since he was already rather experienced in channeling chakra Akio didn't hesitate as he did the same with the paper. As he held the paper it would wrinkle in a matter of seconds, a sign that the Kaguya was skilled in the use of lightning release something even he didn't expect since he was a Kaguya. Although as he channeled his energy the paper would begin to singe around the edges before small lighting bolts began to dance off of the paper, his chakra was materializing into an actual nature without Akio even trying to do so. While the Chunin was glad he was able to do so the paper would wrinkle even further to the extent that it shriveled up to about a third of it's original size. "Guess that answers my first question." Akio commented as he looked up at his Sensei, seemingly unmoved by how much just his raw chakra had caused. Perhaps he just didn't know how uncommon it was for such a thing to happen or just didn't care or even a combination of the two.

As was expected the odd response that the chakra paper gave to Erwin’s chakra did seem to surprise his student, who thought to himself for several moments before giving a rather close answer. ”Yang release, energy derived from the physical strength found in ones body.” ”Close, this is actually Yang’s spiritual counterpart Yin, but both appear rather similar when I use them.” Erwin replied in a fairly impressed tone as he dissipated the light blue aura and placed the paper back in his pouch. Not many his age or rank knew about Yin and Yang energies, Akio had done his research. Of course Erwin’s response also revealed a second tidbit of information as well, should the Kaguya have been listening, he was capable of both. Regardless, it was now Akio’s turn to give it a shot, who followed Erwin’s example perfectly.

Within a matter of seconds the chakra paper he gave the young Kaguya wrinkled revealing that his primary element was lightning, although as Akio continued to channel chakra into the paper something unexpected happened. Small arcs of electricity began to dance across the paper, singing it lightly where the arcs of electricity passed from wrinkle to wrinkle as the paper crumpled up even more, this result brought a faint approving smile across Erwin’s face. Not only was the lightning element a force to be reckoned with on its own but with this much raw potential combined with Akio’s kekkei genkai in close quarters combat the boy could become nigh unstoppable. ”Guess that answers my first question.” ”That it does, now we just have to put it into effect. There are a couple well known C-Rank ninjutsu techniques to choose from, unless you would like to try applying lightning to a technique you already know.”

Either way would work for Erwin, he knew of a common lightning release technique named something along the lines of “Wave of Inspiration” that allows the user to channel electricity through conductive materials. There was also one that had the term “Flash” in it where the user sends lightning across the ground towards the target that could be useful for Akio as well. Although in the end Erwin believe that techniques that combined his student’s unique kekkei genkai and lightning release would carry the best results. Not to mention that Akio’s display heavily implied that the lightning nature within his chakra was practically begging to be released. Now that they knew what nature to aim for It shouldn’t take too much effort on his student’s behalf to coerce the lightning from his chakra, Akio would just need to decide upon how he wanted to do so.

”Close, this is actually Yang’s spiritual counterpart Yin, but both appear rather similar when I use them.” Looking up Akio just stared at Erwin with the same confused look. "That's rather strange, I figured the two would look somewhat different in their raw form." Humming softly Akio had took notice on the fact that the Sensei hinted that he could use both Yin and Yang chakra. Something that would come in handle if the two were to ever spar or even fight each other in the future, most likely resulting in the Chunin being more careful and cautious when encountering the Jounin. Especially if it was in a circumstance other then sparring, for anyone who could channel that much raw Yin, or Yang energy for that matter the Kaguya would know better then to not factor in such an ability.

After he had tried his hand in using the piece of paper and commenting on his own performance Akio would quickly be answered by his Sensei. ”That it does, now we just have to put it into effect. There are a couple well known C-Rank ninjutsu techniques to choose from, unless you would like to try applying lightning to a technique you already know.” Thinking of a minute the blue haired male shook his head slowly. "I would like to push my self a bit further. Let's try a B-Rank Raition technique instead of a C-Rank." While his request to push himself was with few words Akio's cheeks would be covered by an unintentional smile that pulled at his lips.

Suggesting a higher ranked jutsu and therefore a more difficult one the Chunin wasn't sure if Erwin could think of one on the spot. Although if the Jounin didn't Akio already had one in mind. The technique Akio had in mind was known as "False:Darkness". A technique where the user kneads thread in the stomach before expelling it out of the mouth in the form of raw Raition shaped like a spear. Something that could even be done in rapid succession proving to be quite useful. On the other hand if the user felt the lightning spikes were not enough they could shoot a continuous beam of lightning, resulting in a stronger and more likely to connect attack. Plus, the Kaguya even had a plan to use the technique along with his Kekkei Genkai to add even more killing power to his clan's destructive jutsu.

”That’s rather strange, I figured the two would look somewhat different in their raw form.” Akio responded to Erwin’s mention of his chakra paper being coated in Yin energy, maintaining his same slightly confused look as he did so. It certainly wasn’t an irrational thought, usually Yin and Yang energies had vastly different applications with a vast array of different appearances. It also meant that Akio was both paying attention to Erwin and at least minutely knowledgeable on the subject, the former being the more important part to the samurai. Knowledge can always imparted to those who lack it but they must be willing to accept and use it. ”Without application they are simply two sides to the same pool of vitality and chakra, although once the two are applied to a technique their appearances do usually differ.” Erwin answered in the same friendly professional tone. It was a simple and short explanation, he figured the young Kaguya would rather not go into detail about Yin and Yang energies when he could be learning his newly found nature, although if he did Erwin would oblige him.

After thinking it over for a few moments Akio shook his head at Erwin’s presented options. ”I would like to push myself a bit further. Let’s try a B-Rank Raiton technique instead of a C-Rank.” A light smile appeared across the Chuunin’s face, his desire for a challenge seemed true enough, something Erwin wasn’t surprised to hear. ”B eh? I remember one that stuck out on the battlefield. I believe it was called False Darkness, it’s fairly famous perhaps you’ve heard of it. Either way I believe it would fit your skillset rather well, unless you have something else in mind that you’d like to try out.” Truth be told Erwin didn’t know the specific names of many Raiton techniques, their appearance and tactical usage yes, but not their names. False Darkness and Black Panther were the only ones with historical significance that stuck out beyond simply being nameless techniques, and Black Panther was a bit more complex in nature. Should Akio approve of False Darkness they had a goal to work towards and they could get started with the more active portion of the training, if not Erwin would simply hear out his students ideas.

To Akio's surprise his Sensei would reply to his assumption on Yin and Yang chakra quite thoroughly. ”Without application they are simply two sides to the same pool of vitality and chakra, although once the two are applied to a technique their appearances do usually differ.” Nodding softly the Kaguya took Erwin's comment and archived it in his mind, not caring much to know Erwin's reason for actually having his two looking similar to each other. Moving on Akio would be answered on his suggestion to do a higher ranked jutsu and his Sensei would bring up the name of the jutsu the Chunin had just been thinking of suggesting.

”B eh? I remember one that stuck out on the battlefield. I believe it was called False Darkness, it’s fairly famous perhaps you’ve heard of it. Either way I believe it would fit your skillset rather well, unless you have something else in mind that you’d like to try out.” Shortly after hearing Erwin mention 'False Darkness' Akio would shake his head."Yes, that was just the one I was thinking of learning. It would prove useful since it has two forms and is a rather raw form of the nature." Not out right saying it the Kaguya had figured that the jutsu would allow modification of some sort and would be easy to use when incorporated with others and on top of that it not only had the sheer electric force to kill, but also the stopping power to impale a victim and kill them with the spear like assault alone.

"Should we start now or do you have something in mind to make this process easier?" Akio asked, not quite sure if Erwin had some trick up his sleeve or possibly words of advice that would help the Kaguya learn how to mold chakra correctly so that he wouldn't struggle as much or possibly even risk causing damage to the training grounds and even the surrounding area. After all while a B-Rank wasn't looked at as highly as it's A and S-Rank counterparts they were still not a jutsu to be looked on lightly as they had the potential to destroy simple structures and even the ability to kill with just a single strike.

Erwin’s suggestion of False Darkness appeared to invoke a positive response from the young Kaguya, who nodded his head in agreement. ”Yes, that was just the one I was thinking of learning. It would prove useful since it has two forms and is a rather raw form of the nature.” Good, it seemed that they thought alike when it came to the practical use of his newfound nature, that should make things run smoother should Akio desire Erwin’s help on a future endeavor. ”Should we start now or do you have something in mind to make this process easier?” ”Well, I could give you the basic ’clear your mind and visualize the goal’ speech given to average students, but you’re not exactly average.” Erwin answered in a friendly, and somewhat complementary, tone as he addressed his student.

”I don’t believe you require the step by step instruction some do, and…” Erwin paused for a moment, placing his left hand on the handle of his wakizashi on his right hip and drawing the blade, letting his arm rest at his left side with the blade held in a neutral position slightly off to the left and pointing down before continuing. ”... I believe you would learn best if aided by the thrill and necessity of combat. Do you disagree?” If Erwin’s hunch was correct Akio would prefer this method, necessity was one of the best teachers after all, but if his student disagreed then they could take an alternate path. If the Chuunin agreed with this method Erwin would take a few steps back as he waited for Akio to indicate he was ready, after which he would quickly swing his blade from the left to the right, launching a faint blue crescent of energy that was three meters in length straight for the Chuunin’s legs at an downwards angle.

Erwin didn’t release this technique at full speed, it wouldn’t really be fair to Akio then, so he dialed it back a bit to match the young Kaguya’s reaction time he had seen in their past endeavors. Even though it wasn’t apparent to Akio at the time this technique would cause no physical harm to him should it connect, it would only prevent the flow of chakra into the Chuunin’s legs for a short amount of time, preventing him from sprouting bones from his legs or using jutsu that focused on the legs such as the surface walking techniques. In essence this attack was meant to kick Akio’s defensive instincts into action so he could mould his chakra out of necessity in response, with luck it may just push Akio into using the technique he desired and unlocking his chakra’s primary element. Of course this all depended on whether or not Akio agreed to this method of learning.

”Well, I could give you the basic ’clear your mind and visualize the goal’ speech given to average students, but you’re not exactly average.” Erwin would start off with as Akio asked for some advice. Agreeing with Erwin the Chunin nodded slowly, a was satisfied with the fact that Erwin understood him at least a small bit. ”I don’t believe you require the step by step instruction some do, and…” As the next sentence was uttered Akio would grow a bit concerned. Noticing as Erwin began to draw his sword. Watching the blade slide from it's sheath Akio's eyes would narrow ever so slightly before preparing himself to counter or dodge Erwin's strike. ”... I believe you would learn best if aided by the thrill and necessity of combat. Do you disagree?” Hearing the last part Akio would shake his head to show he was okay with Erwin's idea before going into survival mode.

While he was ready to counter Akio would have no choice but to dodge as a large blue crescent was sent from a slash of Erwin's blade. As he seemed to float through the air Akio would instantly attempt to initiate the jutsu Erwin suggested. Only missing the crescent by mere inches a small black ball of chakra would form along with several arcs dancing of of the sphere before Akio attempted to launch it from his mouth. However, the ball would quickly discharge, sending arcs of electricity around the sphere before dissipating to nothing. Over all the jutsu would have proved to failed as Akio let out a low growl. Once his feet would impact with the ground Akio would spring back up in the air.

Grabbing hold of a limb from a nearby tree the Chunin would spin his body around the branch before release his grip, flinging his body further into the air. Attempting to utilize the same jutsu once more the Chunin would generate the sphere of chakra in front of his mouth once more before propelling it downward with a slight burst of chakra from his mouth. As the ball danced through the air, skipping up and down Akio would grin as it molded into a spear like spike. Spiraling insanely fast toward his Sensei, even with his acceptation speed and sword mastery the Jounin would most likely find it hard to deal with such a high ranked jutsu.

Akio didn’t disappoint, even if his first attempt was a failure that resulted in more of a fizzle than a bang he still managed to get that far while dodging a relatively quick attack from Erwin, that was more than could be said for most who had just learned of their primary nature and were starting off with a mildly advanced technique. Erwin eyed the Chuunin carefully, holding his blade to his right where the previous swing had ended in preparation for delivering another attack while Akio leapt into action, literally. He questioned the boys method of gaining height by swinging around the branch instead of simply landing on it and jumping off but to each their own. Akio’s midair second attempt at using False Darkness was far better than the first, he managed to deliver a true spear of lightning this time.

In response Erwin simply swung his wakizashi in another arc from his right to his left side, unleashing a larger crescent of faint blue energy directly at the oncoming spear of piercing energy, which collided and wrapped into the bolt of lightning halfway between the two of them resulting in a small burst of light as the energy from his Soul: Sever diffused the energy of Akio’s False Darkness. ”Success on the second attempt, well done.” Erwin said in complimentary tone, readying himself for another attack from the Chuunin should he decide to continue once landing or while still in “flight”. If his student didn’t immediately want to test out the sustained beam of energy version of the tech then Erwin would suggest it. ”Why don’t you try the sustained version now?”

”Success on the second attempt, well done.” These words would ring rather quietly in Akio's ears for no more then a slight second as he witnessed his Sensei counter the spear with yet another crescent shaped attack. Continuing with his assault Akio had noticed Erwin was still ready for an attack. Therefore as he dodged the second arc by maneuvering his body the Chunin would outstretch his arms and use them to absorb the impact before springing his body back in the air. Tucking and rolling the Kaguya would shift his body in such a way to land on his feet while facing his target. His sandals would scrape against the dirt clearing of the training grounds, kicking up dust as the young shinobi launched the more advanced form of the jutsu.

Bringing his hands up to his chest to form the snake hand seal the Chunin took a deep breath as he gathered the raw chakra needed for the jutsu. Quickly expelling it all at once out of his mouth the Chunin would secede in his first attempt. Forcing a constant beam of lightning from his mouth and toward his Sensei. At the exact time the beam left his mouth his Sensei would speak up once more.  ”Why don’t you try the sustained version now?” Although the words did not reach the blue haired shinobi he would still do as his Sensei was trying to suggest. However, the Chunin would continue to feed the jutsu in hopes of surprising his Sensei. Perhaps this would give him enough energy to counteract the odd crescent attack the older male seemed to be relying on for the moment and force him to dodge rather then counter.

It certainly seemed Erwin was successful at putting his student in his "battle trance" as it were. He got no response from the young Kaguya with his compliment, neither verbal or subconscious visual tell, instead Akio would remain unfazed by Erwin’s counter as he continued on with his assault. Awaiting the Chuunin’s next attack Erwin watched on as Akio landed with a handspring and flipped himself upright before forming another snake hand seal. His student wouldn’t need his suggestion to start anew after all. There would be no fizzle or delay before this attempt at the False Darkness technique, instead it would launch at full force in the form of a steady stream of lightning from the mouth. Erwin was impressed with the Chuunin’s speed of execution, it was only his third attempt, second successful usage, and Akio had no trouble using the sustained version of False Darkness. Nonetheless there was still the immediate threat of the oncoming attack to attend to.

In order to limit the collateral damage on the training grounds Erwin chose to stand his ground and block the oncoming attack, and in order to do that without being electrocuted in the process he would need to provide the necessary insulation, or in this case a thick layer of chakra around his blade. Swinging his wakizashi to meet the stream of energy head on Erwin coated his blade in light blue energy, boosting its effective dimensions to three feet in length and four inches in diameter to provide an effective barrier between the steel of his blade and the electricity of Akio’s attack. Even with a stable stance the impact of Akio’s False Darkness against his chakra clad wakizashi forced Erwin backwards, sliding him a few feet back from his initial position as he held his own against the destructive beam of energy. Even with the rather excessive amount of sparks and small bolts of energy arcing from the point where their two techniques connected Erwin kept a close on on his student, should the boy decide to shift his head, and therefore the trajectory of the beam, he would need to match this shift with the movement of his wakizashi to prevent the energy from slipping past it and striking him or causing excessive damage to the grounds.

Once all was said and done Erwin would dissipate the energy from his samurai saber technique and relax his stance, he was sure that Akio would be rather fatigued, the young Kaguya probably had another use of False Darkness or two within him but it would be unnecessary considering the Chuunin had already successfully performed both versions of the technique. If his student did attack once more he would be ready, but if he didn’t and was satisfied with his success the samurai would then sheath his wakizashi and proceed to compliment the boy. ”Well done. Three attempts, two successful, and all within minutes of learning what primary element you possessed. I’d say you’re a natural.” Erwin would say with praise in his voice and a smile on his face. ”Is there anything else you’d like to try out while we have the time?”

Continuing with his assault the Chunin would watch as his Sensei reacted with lightning speed, engulfing his blade in a thick layer of chakra before deciding to completely block the technique. A rather bold decision since one slip could result in the man being struck with the beam and effectively pierced by the raw energy. However he would be luck enough to catch the jutsu with just the right stance and angle. Causing the beam to connect with the blade and push against it. While it threatened to brake free the jutsu would do no such thing. Feeling a bit fatigued the Chunin decided he would rather cancel the jutsu. Allowing the beam to dissipate before he approached his Sensei.

Along with him ceasing his end of the training Akio would be confronted by his Sensei. Surprisingly the man would complement him on his way. "Well done. Three attempts, two successful, and all within minutes of learning what primary element you possessed. I’d say you’re a natural.” Even though the Chunin should be honored that a higher ranked shinobi thought so highly of him he would brush off the complement as if it was nothing. Although his true emotions would break free for a moment as the man moved along with the training. ”Is there anything else you’d like to try out while we have the time?” A slight look of surprise would show on Akio's face for a brief moment before he would maintain himself and shake his head. "No, I believe that wraps things up. I look forward to our next session." Supposing they were finished Akio would wait a moment before turning around and leaving. Although he would not head toward his house as usual. No, instead the Chunin would be treating himself to a night in the village. He thought that he would have to just relax a little after such a successful training.

"No, I believe that wraps things up. I look forward to our next session." "As do I." Erwin responded politely while bowing his head slightly as a farewell to his student. With the level of aptitude displayed by Akio today Erwin had high hopes for the young Kaguya, not to mention the level of emotional control. Perhaps he was in better control of his thirst for battle than Erwin had originally thought, there was a chance Akio's blood thirst could be honed and focused as Erwin had hoped. It also seemed that his student was opening up a little more, even if he did restrain himself from showing too much emotion. Nevertheless it was time to move on to his usual daily agenda and reopen the training grounds to the rest of the Kirigakure Shinobi, so with a satisfied look on his face Erwin made his way out of the Bloody Mist and towards the Administration Building.
